Stepped up on two previous efforts this season when finishing third at Newbury (good) over this trip last time out. Races off the same mark today as he seeks a first AW win at the seventh attempt.

Completed a treble when winning over this trip on the AW at Kempton in May and a respectable effort when finishing fourth at Haydock (soft) over the same distance next time. Interesting off a mark 5lb higher than for that Kempton success.

Made a winning debut for this yard over 1m at Carlisle (good-to-firm) in May and a respectable effort when fifth over the same C&D next time out. Appeared not to stay when upped in trip and grade at Doncaster (good) last time and the return to 1m should suit here.

Had just two starts since winning over 7f here just under a year ago. Most recent of those came when last of seven at Brighton (good-to-firm) over 7f in April and others make more appeal here.

Ran well when finishing third over 7f at Haydock (good-to-firm) early last month. Racing off his 12lb lower turf mark on that occasion and all three AW wins have come on the fibresand at Southwell.

Best effort of late came when third over an extended 7f at Chester (good-to-soft) earlier this month. First time blinkers worn on that occasion are retained today and he was a winner at Chelmsford in spring 2016 on his only previous AW start.

Broke his maiden over 1m at Windsor (good-to-firm) last month and ran well when finishing runner-up over 1m2f at Newbury (soft) on his handicap debut later that month. Worth a check in the market dropping back to 1m here.

Disappointing since winning at Leicester (good-to-soft) over this trip in April. Market support would be interesting off a mark 3lb higher than when winning over an extended 1m1f here in January.

Successful over C&D here in February but well held twice since including over the same C&D last time out. Probably best watched on this occasion.

Dual winner in France last year but well held in three starts since joining this stable and others have a more obvious chance here.

Wore blinkers (retained) for the first time when finishing a close third over 7f at Yarmouth (good) last time out. Finished runner-up off this mark over 7f here on his most recent AW outing in early June but races from 3lb out of the handicap today.

Verdict

With a few likely front-runners in here it may pay to side with confirmed hold-up horse GABRIAL'S KAKA. The selection returned to form in first time blinkers when third at Chester last time and is now rated 13lb lower than when winning at Ayr in June 2016. Commodity can fare best of those likely to race close to the pace and having completed a hat-trick at Kempton in May he can follow up his latest fourth-placed effort on turf by finishing runner-up today. Big Tour is another likely to race prominently and with the drop in trip likely to suit he can take third on just his fifth start.
