Scored on her debut over 1m2f on the AW in a course maiden she looked to be a very promising sort heading into handicaps. She didn't quite live up to that first run when a little unlucky on her handicap debut (unsuited by run of the race) and making her turf debut after a break last time (made favourite) she still showed that she could win off this mark.

Still looks as though his best form has been delivered on the AW winning in 0-60 company here on his penultimate start (seen to good effect the way the race was run) Stepped up in class next time out but kept to the AW in a classified contest he showed a good level of form again but is now 14lb higher than his last win.

A winner on her second start as a juvenile over a mile she looked to struggle a little in handicaps after that but got back on track last time out here over 1m4f on the AW. The tongue-tie worn for the first time there is removed now and she still has some questions to answer in this company.

Quite a hard horse to weigh up really as she won in good style on her debut when unfancied on the AW here over 1m2f and was give a very stiff task in Listed company off the back of that run. Made her handicap debut last time out (again on the AW) but weakened quickly after leading and can only really be watched here.

Has been kept busy this year with this being his 8th run of the year and he finally got off the mark when winning a handicap on his penultimate start over C&D in a 0-70 with some cut in the ground. Ran better than his final position last time out (heavy going really testing him) having travelled well for a long way; may have a little more to come.

It may well have been the strong gallop and the change of tactics that enabled her to win at Leicester in July over a similar trip off a 4lb lower mark. Hasn't quite had the same scenario since in a couple of handicaps but looks to be able to cope with this mark and give in the ground and not out of the mix here.

Forecasts

Ocean Drive (15/8), Amelia Dream (11/4), Star Maker (9/2), Falcon Cliffs (8/1), First Quest (8/1), Conkering Hero (10/1)

Verdict

Quite a decent three-year-old handicap and it should give OCEAN DRIVE a good chance of getting back on track as she looks to be ahead of her mark and capable of better than she has shown in two handicaps so far. Amelia Dream isn’t out of this if she gets a decent gallop while Starmaker travelled well last time out and showed that he can handle ground as soft as this. Most of the others have some questions to answer although Conkering Hero is worth a second look despite his revised mark that looks to give him a stiff task.
