Ran well but no match for subsequent Deauville Listed winner Izzy Bizu over C&D in June, before scoring with relative ease at Bath on her next start. Best to ignore her latest 'misdemeanour' on handicap debut and a worthy contender back at this track.

Short-head winner on her fourth start at Chepstow last month (6f novice median auction stakes). Taken out of a planned engagement at Goodwood last week and races here on her handicap debut instead. Contender.

Course winner in May (5f soft), and has also won at Newbury since (6f good to firm). Struggled in a stronger contest at Ascot latest and will be suited by the ease in grade, but a couple of the others arguably have potential to progress more.

Six race maiden who admittedly has placed form on her CV. Did okay at Chester on Sunday when upped to this trip for the first time and is turned out quickly seeking to build upon that showing, but others make more appeal.

Off the mark at the first attempt in nursery company at Doncaster last month (6f good) beating Silca Mistress by a neck. A 2lb rise seems fair and whilst that might not be the strongest of form-lines, she deserves respect hailing from a fast emerging stable.

Very green in the prelims on debut at Newcastle in April, and bumped into a useful winner that day. Stepped up markedly on that showing on her next start at Pontefract in June (third to Miss DD), and possibly wasn't helped with the combination of poor draw and cut at Doncaster latest. Unexposed handicap debutant from a leading stable who has to merit close inspection in the market.

Forecasts

Peace Prevails (3/1), Song Of Summer (7/2), She Believes (4/1), Queen Of Kalahari (9/2), One For June (9/2), Mraseel (5/1), Auntie Pam (8/1), Retained (10/1)

Verdict

Mraseel has earned top-weight in chasing home Listed winner Izzy Bizu over C&D in June and looks a worthy contender assuming her Catterick 'misdemeanour' was simply one of those things that happen from time to time. The likes of She Believes, One For June and Song Of Summer all hold claims if able to build upon their respective previous successes, but preference is for the maiden and handicap debutant PEACE PREVAILS. She has had excuses for a couple of her defeats and it's likely that we've not seen the best of her just yet. Hailing from the ever feared Fahey/Hanagan partnership, her opening mark of 66 might just prove cherry-ripe for being exploited.
  1. Peace Prevails
  2. Song Of Summer
  3. Mraseel
