Has twice beaten all but one opponent in maidens over this trip and has shown that he handles cut in the process. Thrashed from today's mark in a handicap last time and so connections return to this sphere in the hope of breaking his duck. Very competitive if at his best.

Made just one start at two when well held at Pontefract for Michael Dods and returned with a decent effort here for this yard last month (5f, good to firm), when beaten just a head. Even so, that bare form leaves him with a fair bit to find today, but no reason why he can't show further improvement.

Has failed to build on a reasonable All Weather effort in April during three subsequent runs in handicaps. Looks to have far too much to find with some of this field.

Looked like he might pick up a race for Gary Moore last season, but didn't quite manage that and has gone backwards in two starts since joining this yard. The latest may have been on account of it being his first start since being gelded and if he can improve now then he is not ruled out.
Gelded prior to this debut. Dam won over this trip as a juvenile and is a half-sister to 5f/6f Group One winner Reverence, 7f 2yo Listed winner Helm Bank and another sprint winner. Nice pedigree on the page and stable's 3yos running at a better-than-average strike rate this term, so a market check is suggested.

Yet to show much in beating just one opponent home in her two starts over 6f on fast ground. Drops in trip and on slower ground for this and looks one to watch with a view to progression when handicapping.

Expectations didn't appear to be high on debut here over C&D when she finished last of seven, beaten 24L. Hood left off today, but would be a surprise if she were to turn that form around on her return for a second attempt.

Half-sister to a 2yo 5f winner and a 6f winner, both of whom were relatively moderate performers. Dam won over 7f and is a half-sister to five other winners. Stable has saddled a few debut winners this year and not always with market support, though they do usually tend to need a run.

Forecasts

Creek Walk (5/2), Canford Bay (11/4), Golden Easter (10/3), Jabbarockie (9/2), Poet's Reward (6/1), Rapid Ranger (8/1), Silently (16/1), Nuns Walk (20/1), Redeeming (25/1), Pavers Pride (50/1), Snow Excuse (80/1), Fintry Flyer (80/1)

Verdict

Eric Alston has two chances here with Jabbarockie and the interesting debutante Redeeming and may well pick up some prize money one way or another. Creek Walk is one to fear if taking him on and Saeed bin Suroor may have found a way to break his maiden. He should be quick enough to have an impact on this race, but GOLDEN EASTER is much more a sprint specialist and can show the benefit of her trainer's patience by getting off the mark this time. Rapid Ranger and Silently are others to consider.
  1. Golden Easter
  2. Jabbarockie
  3. Creek Walk
