Has dropped below his last winning mark following a string of poor performances. Hit form here last summer and goes well in this grade. Has a chance if the cheekpieces have the desired effect.
Former dual winner for Godolphin but yet to make the first three for new stable. Down in class for this and open to improvement on softer ground than usual.
Dual Chelmsford winner who improved for the fitting of cheekpieces last time. That came in similar grade over C&D and he escapes a rise in the weights. Should give another good account.
Gifted an easy lead when landing a Goodwood amateur's race two months ago. Shade disappointing in a weak event last time but that was his fourth race of the month.
Broke his duck at the 12th attempt at Chepstow last time on yard debut. More needed here off 3lb higher and having underperformed on similar ground previously.
Had a subsequent winner back in third when scoring over C&D in June and has gone well on both starts since.. Has previously won with some cut in the ground and trainer has secured a top rider who is 2-5 for him.
Improved on previous efforts when stepped up to this trip last time. Still has a bit to find on form and needs to prove she can settle better if she is to last home in these conditions.
Gets a 7lb pull for 4L with Hope is High on running here in June. That was her stable debut and came after a 10 month absence. Had plenty of use made of her last time and could be more of a threat here with headgear now employed.
Forecasts
Hope Is High (11/8), The Detainee (11/2), Three Loves (7/1), Strictly Art (8/1), Aumerle (8/1), Annoushka (12/1), Best Example (14/1), Sandy Cove (16/1)
Sandy Cove and Best Example have claims on their best form but both look risky at present and HOPE IS HIGH looks a more logical choice judged on her victory here in June. She handles the going and the rider has a good record for the yard. Three Loves is weighted to make matters interesting and merits each-way consideration whilst Aumerle went well in similar conditions here last time. The Detainee managed to grind out a victory four weeks ago but needs to prove he acts on soft ground.
- Hope Is High
- Aumerle
- Three Loves
