Much better when stepped up in trip at Leopardstown last time (7f, good to firm), finishing second only to a promising type. Looks a definite improver, and with this further step up in trip likely to suit she should be capable of going very close.

Galileo half-sister to Group 3 winner Hazel Lavery. Newcomers for this preeminent yard have needed the run more often than not this season but she would be right there if not following that trend.

Didn't run badly on debut at Naas last month when shaping as if this step up in trip should suit her very well. Newcomers from this yard have often needed their first run so far this season, so a better showing can be expected this time.

Declaration Of War filly who makes her debut here. Stamina-laden pedigree, particularly on the dam's side (though her sire did win a Group 1 over this trip), and will almost certainly be more effective over further in time.

Never figured on debut but may have lost her chance at the beginning when not enjoying the smoothest start. Still needs to take a considerably step forward in this competitive heat.

Around 5L behind Adaliya on debut at Leopardstown last time, which wasn't a bad debut, but clearly she has plenty to find in order to seriously challenge here.

Mastercraftsman filly and a half-sister to Australian Grade 3 winner Francis of Assisi and Listed winner Look At Me. Nice pedigree and is entitled to go well on debut.

Galileo filly and a half-sister to Listed level winner Lucky Kristale. Doesn't seem to be the yard's first string but the market should still prove somewhat informative.

Lilbourne Lad filly who cost €8,500 as a yearling. Not the most exciting pedigree of the newcomers here but still could give a good account on this racecourse debut.

Made a promising debut when sent off not particularly fancied at Leopardstown and going down by only a head. Should stay this additional furlong on pedigree and can build on that encouraging first run here.

High Chaparral filly and a half-sister to French Group 1 winner Cloth Of Stars. The market may prove informative as regards her chances in this racecourse debut.

Casamento filly who wasn't sold for €18,500 as a yearling. Most immediate family members on her dam's side ran only races of little account and she looks an unlikely winner of a competitive maiden such as this.

Not disgraced on debut at this course over shorter last time, and should enjoy this step up in trip, but needs to find plenty more in order to prove competitive.

Has run to a similar level in two starts so far and though this looks like it should be an easier assignment she's still liable to be outclassed, especially with so many unknown quantities in the field.

Verdict

With so many unraced fillies in the field, it's difficult to get a handle on their respective chances, and it would be no surprise if the market provided clues, particularly regarding the four Aidan O'Brien runners. NEW TO TOWN ran very well on debut at Leopardstown despite being sent off a relatively big price, and managed to finish just a head behind the winner on that occasion. This definitely represents a more difficult assignment, but if able to progress from that run then she should be capable of going very close again. Adaliya is another to have finished as runner-up last time and looks highly progressive, while of the Ballydoyle contenders Ballet Shoes appeals most, now with the benefit of a previous run.
  1. New To Town
  2. Adaliya
  3. Ballet Shoes
