In good form at present, and has bumped into some well-handicapped horses along the way this spring/summer. C&D winner her in May and this is no harder, so from same mark as latest good second at Southwell, looks a likely player again.

Ideally wants quick ground, so any more rain a negative, and although not a bad effort at Cartmel (in better grade than this) latest, not hard to think the handicapper is in charge at present. Others make more appeal.

Looked a horse going places when winning at Huntingdon in May, as he still looked green there and had plenty to offer, but it's all rather unravelled in his last two starts, looking a bit reluctant at times, and a risky proposition now.

Looked like he needed his recent run behind the fast-improving Terry The Fish here last time out, as he'd been absent since September, and he's not badly handicapped on the best of his form now. May need a bit further than this but will be staying on late, and may hit the frame.

No win on the board since 2015 and didn't show anywhere near enough on his first start for this yard at Southwell recently to think he's up to taking a hand in this.

Had found his form in a big way again recently, winning 2-2 at Perth (one over this trip) and pulled off last-to-first tactics latest, travelling well. On same mark here so obvious chance, and handles good and soft ground. Has to be shortlisted.

Almost pulled off a 25/1 surprise at Wincanton in January, losing out in a bob-of-the-heads photo finish, and still nicely handicapped on that, but not seen out since disappointing in March. Not ruled out if break has freshened him up, with no trip or ground worries.

Had looked to be going nowhere until stepping up in trip at Southwell in June, winning easily. Followed up at Stratford a week later but found out when dropped back in trip again latest, and this trip looks too short now. Will try and creep into this from halfway but others preferred.

Forecasts

Destiny's Gold (2/1), Green Zone (5/2), Polarbrook (11/2), Mondello (7/1), Pongo Twistleton (15/2), Love The Leader (14/1), Ashcott Boy (16/1), Winterlude (25/1), Vote Of Confidence (25/1), Prince Kup (50/1)

Verdict

A few of these have chances on the best of their form, but DESTINY'S GOLD is doing little wrong at present and it may pay to stay with him again here. Conditions look ideal and another solid run is on the cards. Winterlude has a bit of class about him in this grade and may prove the danger despite the big weight. Love The Leader and, if he's on a going day, Pongo Twistleton both have a squeak, and Green Zone should go well again too.
  1. Destiny's Gold
  2. Winterlude
  3. Love The Leader
