6/1
Trainer having a real golden run in nursery handicaps this season so far with a record of 5/9 already. This one made the most of a good draw when winning over 5f at Sandown in June on decent ground but proved a disappointment on his nursery debut last time out over 5f at York. Stables horses often bounce back quickly and steps up a furlong here on his second try in handicaps.

7/2
Brighton maiden winner in June over 6f on good ground saw him get off the mark at the fourth attempt. Handicapper has had plenty of form to take into account and his mark is only fair and no more as he takes on softer ground for the second time.

One of two in the field making his handicap debut he's shown some fair form this year and now steps up in trip to 6f. Both subsequent starts since his debut have seen him regress though and needs to show more here to be of interest.

Visor goes on for the first time after he ran well down in grade when made favourite for a valuable York seller (finished second) with that form having been franked since. Followed that up last time out with a solid run on his nursery debut at Pontefract over this trip off this mark and looked to enjoy the softer conditions there which will stand him in good stead here.

5/2
One of two runners in this race for the yard who take up the two lowest places in the handicap. Has alternated between AW and turf runs although she is yet to win and her opening mark which she ran off last time and here is only a fair one.

Looks to be the lesser fancied of the two runners from this yard and her form is fairly modest as she makes her nursery debut here. 6f looks to be her trip but even off this mark others look to be capable of conceding the weight here.

Forecast

Miss Mo Brown Bear (5/2), The Love Doctor (5/2), Alaska (7/2), Branscombe (6/1), Story Minister (8/1), That's My Girl (16/1)

Verdict

THE LOVE DOCTOR showed that he can handle soft going last time out at Pontefract and his York form prior to that even though it was only in a seller looks sound enough also. With Mark Johnston having a good record in nurseries this year his Branscombe is respected with Miss Mo Brown Bear another worthy combatant in this who looks stronger than both Story Minister and Alaska.
  1. The Love Doctor
  2. Branscombe
  3. Miss Mo Brown Bear
