Slightly inconsistent sort but is a very effective performer on his day. Needs to bounce back from a comprehensive defeat at Ripon last time out to that end, but would be thereabouts on his best form.

Progressive so far this year and has been improving as she steps up gradually in trip. Tackles this distance for the first time today but seems to have a good chance of staying it given how she's shaped in previous races, and should go close if so.

Ran his best race since getting off the mark at Newcastle last year when finishing a fine third at Ripon. Going the right way and his form generally reads well. Needs to prove he stays this trip effectively, though.

Seemingly on far too high a handicap mark after too very tame efforts since switching from maidens. Down 5lb which should help, but he still wouldn't have gone anything like close to winning off his revised mark the last twice.

Yet to really land a blow in handicap company having shown some ability in maidens, though perhaps the first time blinkers can bring about some further improvement.

In fine form recently having won twice and finished second on a further occasion since the beginning of June. Not quite so good on another occasion at Newcastle but may not have handled the synthetic surface that day and she looks a highly progressive prospect who could well deal with another 5lb rise.

Well-beaten on handicap debut at Leicester last time and difficult to fancy dropped only 3lb back down to this trip.

Yet to get off the mark but has posted some admirable efforts both in maiden and handicap company. Should be suited by this step up in trip and though this may be a little too tough for him once again, he still holds place claims.

Ran his best race for some time when finish third over this trip at Catterick last time. Wasn't beaten far that day and it marked a revival following some poor recent efforts. Needs to overcome an unideal draw but not discounted.

Hasn't shown massive amounts of progression from his juvenile form this year but has still run some fair races, and this return to 7f shouldn't be an issue, even if others do hold stronger claims.

No particularly eye-catching form but was well-supported in the market last time, with the jockey subsequently reporting the gelding was never travelling. Blinkers on now may be a help.

Has done most of his racing over 6f up to this point but should have no issue getting this trip based on both pedigree and the way he has previously performed. Looks to be on a workable handicap mark and is one for the shortlist.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3| J: D Fentiman| T: K Tutty| OR:  51

No obvious improvement when tried over this trip for the first time last time out and will probably need more help from the handicapper than his most recent 4lb drop down the weights.

Well beaten in all of her five starts to date, showing little signs of ability in any of them, and races from out of the handicap here.

Has shown basically nothing in four starts to date, and, racing from out of the handicap, no reason that should change other than a first time visor.

Forecasts

Haworth (7/2), Clear As A Bell (6/1), Regal Decree (13/2), Roys Dream (13/2), Chipping (8/1), Atrafan (9/1), Fortuities (10/1), Hitchcock (12/1), Darvie (14/1), Silk Mill Blue (20/1), Something Brewing (20/1), Channel Packet (25/1), Redrosezorro (25/1), Baby Helmet (33/1), Prince Of Clappers (40/1), Thornton Mary (100/1), Zarkavon (125/1)

Verdict

A few of these seem fairly progressive, including ROYS DREAM, who has improved both with time and as she has stepped up in trip. Tackling 7f for the first time today, she should relish this distance and is on a very appealing handicap mark. Two of the other fillies in the race, Fortuities, who has had her excuses in recent races, and the in-form Clear As A Bell, should also go well.
  1. Roys Dream
  2. Fortuities
  3. Clear As A Bell
