Debut success in a Curragh maiden is only win to date, though has been tried in some strong races. Well beaten this month in 7f handicap back at the Curragh and surprise if he proves up to this going back up in distance.

Maiden winner over 1m2f (soft) at Leopardstown in April on second start/seasonal bow. Then ran very credible race in Group Three at the same track and sets standard on that evidence for trainer/jockey team with 21% strike rate lately.

Improved on first start for this yard to win 1m Leopardstown maiden in early May. Off since and will have to stride forward again to continue winning ways surely.

Easy winner of Curragh maiden (7f, good) on final start last season, reappeared in the Irish 1,000 Guineas where she was outclassed. This is more realistic and could easily have a big say.

Verdict

This looks between INSAYSHABLE and Aneen, with preference for the former. Ger Lyons' team are in superb form of late and his run in a Leopardstown Derby Trial is the standout piece of form on offer here. He'll take some beating but Aneen is not overlooked easily. She readily won her maiden last back-end and shouldn't be harshly judged on her reappearance in the Irish Guineas and the daughter of Lawman should remain progressive this term. Newcross rates the best of the remaining trio, despite his trainer being just below full power this season, seemingly.

  2. Aneen
  3. Newcross
