Five-race maiden on the AW, had been showing pleasing signs with pair of runner-up finishes before flopping over a mile at Kempton in February. Off since, worth a market check for this turf bow.

Once-raced filly didn't show much over 7f at Chelmsford on the AW in October, Stoute team are in fine fettle lately and could be capable of a good deal better on return to action.

Poor in both runs so far, over 1m2f on soft ground at Doncaster and dropped in trip on AW at Wolverhampton. Likely going to be seen to better effect going handicapping in due course.

Sent off favourite for Doncaster maiden (7f, good) on debut a fortnight ago, ran with some promise before tiring late on, entitled to an improved run now and can be competitive.

160,000 gns half-sister to several winners, she looks set to be a strong contender on debut in what is not a strong contest and gets the vote of confidence from Buick out of two from the yard - which is red-hot form.
She showed some promise on debut over 1m at Newbury last month but delivered a very lacklustre performance since when upped in journey at Doncaster. The jury remains out for now, coming back down to the mile with Moore returning in the saddle.

Created a good impression in three starts last year, only just failing to shed the maiden tag at Yarmouth in October (1m, soft) on final start. Stable are in superb form and could hit the ground running now but Buick seemingly has opted for Pretty Asset instead.

Forecasts

Pretty Asset (6/5), Song Maker (9/4), Awfaa (8/1), Obeya (9/1), Shimmering Light (9/1), Good Business (14/1), Tibibit (40/1), Chocolate Account (50/1)

Verdict

With the Appleby yard operating at a 29% strike rate recently, the Godolphin pair of PRETTY ASSET and Song Maker stand out for this maiden. The latter finished second to subsequent Musidora scorer Shutter Speed on her final start last year at Yarmouth and has clear claims on that evidence but is must be notable that William Buick instead partners the newcomer. Pretty Asset is well-related and could be worth siding with in this. Obeya shaped nicely for a long way on debut at Doncaster and rates as one of the more likely contenders along with Shimmering Light, who is surely better than she showed at Doncaster on second start.
  1. Pretty Asset
  2. Song Maker
  3. Shimmering Light
