In flying form recently, with back-to-back wins at Brighton (7f) and Newbury over this trip. Should go well again but is now on career-high mark.
Improved performer this season, record brace of wins in May at Lingfield and Leicester over 6f, up in the weights since as a result but ran a very solid race at Windsor 19 days ago when close second behind a promising type.
Mare won over this C&D a year ago and has now dropped back to within 2lb of that mark. Form since is not inspiring but will be suited if there is some give underfoot.
Excellent record at this venue, including C&D win last summer. Unable to produce best stuff in two runs last month but could bounce back soon.
Won a Class 4 contest at Newbury last year but hasn't managed to get back in the winner's enclosure since. Went close here in May and likely to have chance boosted by any further rain.
Finished 3L behind Staintondale Lass at Newbury earlier in the month, has not been able to bring best form so far this season and more is needed to land this.
Lightly-raced sort, took her chance nicely in a four-runner contest here three weeks ago. 3lb higher for this but claiming rider offsets that and capable of getting involved once again.
Winner over this trip at Goodwood in June on good ground but finished behind a few of today's rivals over 7f at Newbury most recently. Gets De Sousa in the plate now and that could help.
Lightly-raced filly has been improving this season and went down just ½L over this trip at Pontefract last time out. Up just 1lb for that and has the services of Ryan Moore for this. Contender.
Formerly trained by Dermot Weld in Ireland and made debut for this yard at Pontefract earlier in the month (6f, good) when finishing behind Partitia. Has work to reverse those placings.
Easy winner of 6f maiden at Carlisle on good ground on debut last month. Entitled to improve for that experience and ought to be in the mix making handicap debut if that proves the case.
Maiden winner over 5f at Beverley in September, hasn't show any great signs of being progressive this season but mar continues to slide as a result. Up in trip and softer ground is an unknown.
Forecasts
Clon Coulis (9/2), Raven's Lady (11/2), Angel Of Darkness (6/1), Quench Dolly (7/1), Partitia (7/1), Poet's Princess (7/1), Staintondale Lass (10/1), Belledesert (12/1), Summer Chorus (16/1), Tilly Trotter (33/1), Guishan (33/1), Reedanjas (66/1)
CLON COULIS looked a really decent prospect when making a winning start at Carlisle last time out. It's hard to say how strong that race was but, regardless, she should improve for the run and could well maintain her perfect start by taking this prize. Quench Dolly put in another creditable showing last time out Windsor behind a useful rival and merits respect coming here as a result. The in-form Staintondale Lass is respected but races off a career-high mark while Partitia is just 1lb higher than when going down fighting over this trip at Pontefract last time.
- Clon Coulis
- Quench Dolly
- Partitia
