Stepped up to 1m7f successfully at Ayr last month and has gone up 4lb for that. Has won and been runner-up in two 2m4f hurdles since then, so we know that he is in a consistent spell of good form. Has also won from higher marks from this on the Flat, so with conditions no problem, he looks to have plenty going for him.

Both his wins have been at around 1m4f, including here last year. Stays 1m5½f, but not certain to get this far and given his recent form he has a fair bit to prove today.

Scored here over half this trip a couple of years ago and was not beaten far over 1m4f at this venue last month. Same mark today for this marked step up in trip. Races as though it is worth a try, but does have his stamina to prove.

Proven over this trip with four of his five wins being at around 2m. 5lb higher than his last win and has been held from 1lb higher in recent outings, so looks to be in the grip of the assessor at present.

Stays well and won over this trip on soft ground at Catterick in October from 5lb lower. Has won two hurdles at that venue since then, but if he can reproduce his running at this track then he looks to have claims today.

Thorough stayer whose six wins have all been at around this trip and goes on any ground. 2lb higher than when last winning at Newcastle in January, but went well from this mark at Carlisle last time out and should be thereabouts.

Won here ovwr 1m4f last season but has yet to score beyond that trip on the Flat (stays 2m3½f over hurdles). Well beaten when tried over this trip on soft ground for the only time way back in 2013, but worth another go from 6lb lower than his last run under this code.

Beaten just over 1L from this mark (1m6f, good to firm) at Redcar last month, though not got quite as close in two further runs over shorter. Looks as though he might see this out, so if he can reproduce his Redcar effort then he would have frame claims.

Scored over a similar trip at Newcastle last year from a 2lb lower mark. Inconsistent, though ran a nice race over 1m4f at Ripon last time out. Looks risky supporting him to back up that run with another good effort, but has the ability to have a say if on a going day.

1-18, that sole success being over 1m3f at Hamilton (good) in September 2015. Well beaten in better company on his only run over this far, but sees out 1m6f and probably has each-way claims if staying this far, having now dropped 8lb this season.
