In good form recently, but is up another 9lb for a victory over slightly shorter here last time out. Has thrived since stepping up to this trip and also has a good record on this ground.
Finally got his head in front again last time having gone close on a number of occasions so far this year. A 3lb rise seems fair and though he steps down in trip now, he has also won previously over C&D.
Arguably more effective over shorter than this but still definitely stays this trip, though he could ideally do with some more assistance from the handicapper before being considered in a race such as this for win purposes.
Brighton winner last August but hasn't been able to build on that since switching to handicap company, and will probably need a lower mark than this (even down 2lb from his last race), to make a genuine impact in a race of this nature.
Has looked held by the handicapper on her recent starts and could be vulnerable to an improver here. Also a concern that two of his three wins have come on Southwell's Fibresand, a specialist surface very different to good ground on the turf.
Lightly-raced type who ran a fair second at Pontefract last time and remains on the same mark now. Open to further improvement and shouldn't be underestimated.
Has run several solid races so far this season without managing to get his head in front. Shaped as if this step up in trip would help at Haydock last time when outpaced at a crucial moment, and the further distance may prove the key to him.
Has run well in weaker races so far this year but has something to prove at this level, with a further step forward being necessary. Ground should be fine for him.

A chance is taken on IN FIRST PLACE. Richard Fahey's gelding has been running solid races in the main so far this year but has really looked like a step up to an intermediate trip could be the making of him. He gets that step up in trip today off what should prove to be a workable handicap mark, with ground he'll like to assist further. He can get the better of Visitant, who brings strong recent form to the table having already benefited from a step up in trip, while potential improver Sound Bar is another to consider.
