Has not yet won over this short (1m4f & 1m5f) and it is a long time since he got competitive over less than 1m4f. Nonetheless, he was beaten just over 1L from 1lb lower at Hamilton last time, so he comes here in good form and has each-way claims.
It is well over two years since the second of his two wins, but he was still showing enough on the Flat from slightly higher marks last year to think that he could make an impact here. Ran a nice enough race to be runner-up over hurdles last week so is fit and firing.
All three of his wins have been over 1m4f and he went well over that trip when beaten less than 2L at Beverley (good to firm) last week. From the same mark today he should be capable of another decent effort.
Stepped up to 1m4f at Beverley last time and came the closest he has done to winning in his career so far. This stiff 1m3f should be fine for him and if he can produce another similar effort then he is a player here in first-time cheekpieces.
Well beaten in all three maiden outings and now goes handicapping from a workable sort of mark and in first-time cheekpieces. May be capable of better than we have seen and a market check is advised.
Sole win on turf was way back in 2013, though he did go well over C&D (soft) in a similar contest in June. Handles a sound surface, though has a poor effort last time to overcome.
Handicapper appeared to have overestimated his capabilities on the evidence of three runs in similar races so far. Steps up in trip here and has stamina to prove over this far, while a further 4lb drop might see him in the game. Market check suggested.
Has failed to get competitive in either handicap run so far and his best race so far was run over hurdles at Hexham last month. Enough stamina in the pedigree to think he might stay, but has plenty to prove.
Not looking at though he is the most talented Great Habton inmate, but put in his best effort so far over 1m2f when dropped to this mark at Beverley last time. No reason why he can't remain competitive and being back up 1f might help him find a bit of improvement.

Thomas Crown is becoming more interesting now dropping in the handicap and a market check is suggested, while Bollin Ted may be able to rise a little in the ranks and a better effort from him would not surprise. Mount Cheiron is another to consider along with Thorntoun Care and Rockabilly Riot. However, DRUID'S DIAMOND might be the one today in first-time cheekpieces and over a trip that should suit on this stiff track.
