The last of his seven wins was in 2015 and he is now 8lb below that mark going into this. Best turf form has been on good to firm at 7f-1m, so there is hope of a revival, but recent efforts none too encouraging.
Won a maiden handicap (6f, good to firm) at Chepstow a couple of years ago, but that was a flash in the pan and he has come close only once since. Is on the same mark today as when beaten 3L over 7f here and also C&D on his last two starts and not easy to fancy for the win.
Well beaten in all three maiden outings and now goes handicapping from a workable mark and dropped back in trip, with cheekpieces also added. Stable in good form and a bold showing would not surprise. Market check advised to gauge confidence.
The only time he has made the frame he won a 7f (AW) handicap at Wolverhampton in March from a mark of 54. Not far away at Wetherby last time over this trip (good to firm) from today's mark and should again be on the premises.
Sole win came in a Kempton claimer (7f, AW) three years ago and he has clearly had his problems since. Returns to the track after an absence of 22 months and after a 5lb drop since he was last seen. If fully wound up, that would give him a squeak, so a market check is suggested.
Has been going well enough in similar races this season, making the frame over both 7f and most recently today's C&D. Fast ground suits and from the same mark today she again has frame claims.
6lb worse off with Lawfilly for beating that reopposing rival by 2½L over C&D last month and was a beaten favourite last time from today's mark at Kempton (7f, AW). The return to this trip is probably a positive move and stable in form, so should be very competitive.
Interesting that she was sent off as favourite over 1m4f last time at Wolverhampton, but after a 7L defeat she now drops right back to 1m and also 1lb in the handicap. Not easy to get over excited about her claims but a market check is advised.

Forecasts
Luxford (9/4), Lawfilly (7/2), Jack Blane (6/1), Captain Marmalade (6/1), Chough (13/2), Alketios (7/1), Lagertha (8/1), George Baker (10/1), Kelpie Spirit (12/1), Limerick Lord (20/1), Hellarious (25/1), Almoqatel (40/1)
A poor contest where it might be worth chancing the unexposed LAGERTHA on her handicap debut with cheekpieces on to sharpen her focus. Jack Blane looks capable of having a say, while Lawfilly and Luxford should have less daylight between them than here last time and should be in the shake-up.
