Off the mark in a three-runner Newmarket nursery last summer and followed up on the AW at Kempton in October. Not at his best on his reappearance at this track, but shaped better at Epsom last time. Further progress could see him figure, but he looks handicapped to the hilt.
Won on the turf at Brighton in April, but has not been able to add to that in three subsequent outings. Handicapper has not relented and his supporters' main hope is for the first-time blinkers to be effective.
Won a Kempton maiden as a juvenile, but has not quite progressed as seemed likely. Best effort in three runs since being gelded saw him finish third of seven over C&D last month and a reproduction of that effort off the same mark would see him in the mix.
Has run only five times and won as a juvenile at Wolverhampton in December. Finished runner-up in his first handicap at Kempton, but has not been the same force in similar events at Chelmsford and Newbury, the latter over 2f further than this race. Needs to bounce back.
Shed her maiden tag at the second attempt at Kempton last August and again showed ability when third of 12 in a Newmarket handicap the following month. May have needed her reappearance run at Sandown last month, but shaped well before fading in the final furlong. Drops back 1f and can go close with that outing under her belt.
Promising as a juvenile and returned from her winter break to win a five-runner maiden at Goodwood. Her first run in a handicap saw her finish second when favourite at Carlisle and she competes off the same mark here.
Has improved since joining this yard from Mark Johnston, winning twice on the AW, including at this track. Handicap mark has been climbing, though, and she may struggle against one or two of these.
Much better at three than two and got off the mark when landing a Lingfield handicap in February. Raised 5lb for that, he was second over C&D in March, since when he has had a break. May have more improvement in him, but the same can be said about a few of his rivals.
Forecasts
Blushing Rose (6/5), Tafaakhor (7/2), Intimate Art (7/1), Makaarim (8/1), Contentment (10/1), Plant Pot Power (12/1), Ourmullion (14/1), Toy Theatre (25/1)
Stable companions Plant Pot Power and Tafaakhor look to be in the grip of the handicapper, while Intimate Art has yet to recapture his juvenile sparkle. Toy Theatre and Ourmullion look vulnerable to improvers and the two which fall into that category are BLUSHING ROSE and Contentment. The former gets the vote following her encouraging reappearance run at Sandown as both surface and trip should suit.
- Blushing Rose
- Contentment
- Ourmullion
