Has to concede weight to all his opponents courtesy of his win at Nottingham (6f, soft) last time out, when the front pair were 9L clear. Runner-up franked that form by winning here next time, so every chance that he can go on from it and he sets the standard.

The form of his debut Lingfield (6f, good to firm) win has worked out well, with the third winning next time and the fourth only just being held on his next start. Should be capable of some improvement for that run and likely to be in the shake-up.

Well held on both starts so far, though did show some improvement for the step up to this trip at Leicester last time. More needed here.
Did better on his debut over this trip at Wolverhampton than when returning there over 5f last time. First start on turf today and it would be nice to first of all see him make a step back in the right direction.

Half-brother to a couple of winners, including over this trip as a juvenile. Was prominent for much of the way on debut at Newbury (6½f, good) last month and can begin to improve for that experience today.

Runner-up in a similar event on debut at York in May (6f, good to soft) but was a little disappointing when sent off favourite here over C&D (soft) last time. Perhaps conditions were simply too slow for him there and should be fine on good ground. Not written off and if back to form he looks a serious contender.

9,000gns foal, who rose to ÂŁ19,000 as a yearling and more recently ÂŁ24,000 as the breeze-ups. Half-brother to two winners, both as juveniles over 5f-7f. Dam won over 1m4f and is half-sister to two 5f-6f winners and a 6f-1m3f scorer. Nice pedigree and yard going well now, though its debutantes usually need the run.
Well beaten last of eight in the same York race as Red Force One in May, when sent off at 9-2. Stable's runners can improve plenty for such an initial experience, so that apparent initial confidence in him may be closer to being justified this time around on forecast better ground. Interesting.

Meets Red Force One on the same terms as when finishing a neck ahead of him here last time (6f, soft), which was a slight improvement on his debut run. Every chance that he can also go better on the forecast sound surface, so he has to be short-list material.

3L behind Red Force One and over 10L ahead of Taifbalady when the trip met at York on this colt's debut in May (sent off 7-2 fav there). He was green on that occasion and the soft ground may also have been an excuse, but there were clearly some expectations to see him head the market and he could begin to show why this time.

30,000gns foal, rising to 180,000gns as a yearling and therefore the most expensive entrant here. Half-brother to a 5f winner (inc. at two) and a 1m juvenile winner in Italy, who went on to finish third in the Italian 1,000 Guineas. Dam an unraced half-sister to 7f 2yo Group One winner Mail The Desert. Market check advised coming from top yard.

Half-sister to 1m2f winner, out of an unraced half-sister to 6f 2yo Group Three winner Camargo and 1m2f-1m4f winner Chinkara, out of a US 6f winner. Stable has not yet had a juvenile winner in 2017 and she looks best watched on debut.

Forecasts

Green Fortune (7/4), Vj Day (4/1), Red Force One (5/1), Wafeer (15/2), Green Power (10/1), The Right Choice (10/1), Taifbalady (20/1), Motabassim (40/1), Staxton (50/1), Bomad (50/1), Admiral Spice (66/1), Arty But Poor (80/1), Hic Bibi (100/1)

Verdict

Both interesting and informative, GREEN POWER may well be good enough to concede weight all around and follow up his Nottingham success. Even though soft ground can exaggerate margins, the front pair had a very handy 9L to spare over the rest that day and he will be a tough nut to crack, even on better ground. Red Force One, The Right Choice and Green Fortune are all feared in opposition, while Vj Day and Taifbalady each look likely to be better than they showed on debut. A market check is also suggested with regard to the newcomer Wafeer.
  1. Green Power
  2. Green Fortune
  3. Red Force One
