John Hopkinson Memorial Handicap

Has been around the block a few times, but retains his form well and latest efforts, including when fourth at Beverley last time, have been encouraging. Has dropped to a favourable handicap mark and has each-way claims.

Stable companion of Short Work, who seems to be the yard's number one on jockey bookings. Finished third in a Chelmsford claimer on his last outing in May and has plenty to do on that evidence.

Ran well when a close-up fifth of 12 on his debut for this stable at Beverley in April, and subsequent efforts have been respectable. Has dropped to a mark from which he can be competitive, but has not given the impression a victory is imminent.

Registered his third win at Wetherby last time and is clearly in rude health. On the down side, a 6lb rise takes him to a career-high mark and leaves him vulnerable to better-handicapped rivals.

Won on his debut at Chepstow in June, last year, but has failed to build on that in four subsequent starts. Showed some promise on his last outing at Musselburgh and a falling handicap mark offers hope.

Has improved for the application of cheekpieces on his last two starts when finishing a close second at Newcastle and over C&D. Up 2lb since the second of those efforts, but clearly acts well at the track and has quite strong claims.

Good servant to his connections over the years, winning nine of his 67 races. Ran well off 1lb higher at Musselburgh a couple of starts ago and is not one to write off just yet.

Veteran campaigner who has won nine races, but is not at the peak of his powers these days. Continues to drop down the weights and his recent fifth of 11 over C&D offers hope that he remains capable of being competitive.

Seven-times winner who often races prominently, but was held up when landing a C&D handicap from Kirkham last time with Compton Park in fifth. Weighted to confirm that form, although it promises to be a close-run thing again.

Only one win in 20 starts, but that was over C&D in April. Well held behind Mango Chutney off a higher mark at Wetherby last time and it looks as though the handicapper has him for now.

Experienced campaigner who has five career wins to his credit. Returned from a lengthy break when last of 13 at Beverley last time and is best watched until he shows more.

Has been rather hit-and-miss in recent outings, but both career wins have come at this track and she remains capable as she showed when finishing third of 12 at Nottingham in May. Trapped out wide at Beverley last time, she can be more effective with a better passage and has claims under her top jockey.
