Has won three of his seven starts since joining his current stable and ran his usual sound race when fourth of 11 at Doncaster last time. Remains in great heart and seems sure to go well again despite his lofty burden.

Decent efforts on the AW since the turn of the year, and shaped with a fair amount of promise at York last time after missing the break. He is 2lb lower and has claims if getting away on terms.

Ran in decent handicap company for Richard Hannon last year, and has done well for new connections, including when winning over 7f at Doncaster two starts ago. Drop back in trip not ideal, but not one to rule out.

One run in eight starts since joining current yard from Andrew Balding. Won at Thirsk two starts ago, but was last of 11 at Doncaster last time and connections reach for the cheekpieces in search of a revival.

Won four times in an excellent 2016 campaign, but has not looked quite the same force in four outings this time round. Not disgraced when fourth of eight at Ayr last time and is 7lb lower than at the start of the current campaign. Could be ready to show his true colours.

Ran off much higher marks last summer, but is still struggling to get his act together this time round and was well adrift at Epsom last time. Perhaps the years are catching up with him, but there is no denying he is well treated.

Has been inching down the weights and he returned to form at Chepstow last time when beaten a short head by a stable companion. Runs off the same mark here, but might not been so effective on quicker ground.

Seems to like Windsor, winning there in May and finishing second on Sunday. Competes off the same mark and there is no reason why he should not run his race again.

Bossipopb17
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR:  81| D

Had a productive 2016 campaign, winning twice and being placed on several occasions, but has not been in the same form in three starts this season. The handicapper has dropped him 3lb since his last run at Doncaster and he is only 1lb higher than for his last win, so could be dangerous if in the right mood.

Not quite at his best in three starts this season after being gelded and was only 15th of 19 over C&D on his last outing. All three wins have come over 5f and that looks his optimum trip.

Forecasts

Wentworth Falls (3/1), Jaywalker (4/1), Clear Spring (5/1), Sir Billy Wright (6/1), King Robert (6/1), Englishman (7/1), Burnt Sugar (8/1), Bossipop (12/1), Giant Spark (12/1), Laughton (14/1), Zanetto (33/1)

Verdict

A competitive sprint which features a couple of in-form contenders at the top of the handicap. Wentworth Falls seems sure to give it his best shot despite top weight, while King Robert and, in particular, Jaywalker, have plenty going for them. Clear Spring and Bossipop lurk on dangerous marks, but a chance is taken with GIANT SPARK , who was in fine fettle last season and has dropped 7lb since the start of the current campaign. He shaped as though about to hit form last time and can make a bold bid.
  1. Giant Spark
  2. Jaywalker
  3. Wentworth Falls
