Winner of his last three Flat starts the last a claimer over 1m4f at Catterick he's not been in such good form over hurdles. His last start over obstacles proved disappointing promising more that he delivered and that trait makes him one to be slightly wary of in this sphere.

Nursed back to form of late in a couple of sellers that have been used as a springboard for better performances in handicaps. Was unlucky to run into and improving sort on his penultimate start but put that right when running out an impressive winner at Hexham last time. Still looks fairly treated under a penalty and must enter the equation here.

Beaten by Lough Kent and now weighted to reverse the form with that one having travelled very well behind him last time and looked the best horse at the weights. One of three that the local trainer runs in this race and could well be popular in the market given his previous run here.

The last of the triumvirate that this handler runs in the race (often has multiple entries around here) but was once again beaten by the same two stable mates that take him on again today. Not quite in the form that he needs to be to take a contest such as this.

Multiple winning point-to -pointer hasn't been seen over hurdles since 2014 and he's been lightly raced all together. makes stable debut after a long absence and can only be watched.

Has been capable of some decent form in the past but not really the same force these days. Well beaten in a seller at Hexham last time and although he's well below his highest winning rating and this headgear combination is used for the first time he makes limited appeal.

Win at Catterick in January came by 8L but he's not totally convinces since then in five starts and his last two starts have been very disappointing. Had six previous tries here and is 0/6 and that hardly inspires confidence for this contest.

A record of 1-14 probably sums him up with the win coming on his debut in this sphere way back in early 2014. Ran a fair enough race last time at Hexham but has work to do with Back To Balloo and others are preferred.

Really is of very little account these days and would be a shock winner here from 20lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Back To Balloo (5/2), Fiosrach (3/1), Rockabilly Riot (4/1), Fantasy King (6/1), Collodi (6/1), Lough Kent (6/1), My Renaissance (8/1), Mighty Whitey (12/1), Snowed In (20/1), Cinevator (33/1), Raifteiri (150/1)

Verdict

It will be fascinating if Lough Kent runs here after his win here on Friday as he’s clearly suited by this course although he will be without his regular rider. Back To Balloo certainly stormed to victory last time out and a repeat of that run would take him very close although that win came in a soft enough race and FIOSRACH is given the vote after his run here last time out. Collodi also enters the mix on his Flat win last time if he can reproduce that over hurdles.
  1. Fiosrach
  2. Back To Balloo
  3. Lough Kent
