No win since August 2015 and is possibly slightly better over 7f, but has shown some renewed promise recently and benefits from his lowest mark in several years.
Remains 6lb higher than when winning at Catterick two starts ago (7f, soft), but ran better than his form figure suggests at this course over slightly shorter last time and should enjoy today's ground.
No win since June 2015 but has gone close on a number of occasions and is now on a lower mark than when finishing third in last year's Spring Mile and Doncaster. A definite competitor if showing his best and overcoming this stall at a course where it often pays to be drawn high.
An excellent third to G K Chesterton at Epsom two starts ago is one of the better recent pieces of form on offer here and she now remains on the same mark having not disgraced herself at Sandown last time.
Only tried twice on turf so far, not bringing his best on either occasion, but could have more to offer on grass. Down 2lb compared with a heavy defeat over further here last time but was having his first run for this trainer on this occasion and can do better now back down in trip.
Slightly unlucky in places so far in 2017, but generally looks at his best over 1m and now has lowest handicap mark since winning at Ayr last October to help.
Hasn't really made an impact so far this year and was 4¼L behind Boots And Spurs two starts ago. Needs to pick up the pace in first time cheek pieces now.
Has a track record of putting in some impressive displays in 1m handicaps when the ground goes soft, and so any further rain would be a further help to this veteran who looks to be on a very appealing handicap mark.
Has had three trainers since his last win back in August 2013 but has been showing some improved form recently, including when beaten only a length at Redcar last time. The return to this trip should help and he shouldn't be discounted.
On the same mark now as when finishing a fair second at Beverley last time over a similar trip to this. His form has leveled out somewhat recently, but perhaps first time cheek pieces can produce further improvement from an appealing draw.
Winner of a minor event at Ripon three starts ago (1m, good to soft), but has something to prove at this level, especially now being 4lb higher in the weights than at the time of that most recent victory.
Up 8lb for a victory over shorter at this course last time. Won well that day, and should be just as, if not more effective at this trip, with more possibly to come from a near-ideal draw.
Not as effective since stepping up from sprint distances at the end of last season, and it would be no surprise to see her return to shorter trips in time given some very poor recent displays. Blinkers applied.
Useful performer in France who is yet to find his way in Britain having never figured in two starts so far. Likely to require a fair bit more assistance from the handicapper before proving a genuine threat.

It was encouraging to see HOME CUMMINS run a quality race at Epsom last month when not beaten far by G K Chesterton in a valuable handicap during the Derby meeting. She remains on the same mark having run a solid race since and could be coming to hand just in time to win a race such as this, with the ground unlikely to pose her any problems. Be Kool has plenty of extra weight to carry after winning well last time but is also of interest, while Silvery Moon seems to love these sorts of handicaps when the ground turns soft, and so deserves close consideration if the course doesn't dry out too much.
- Home Cummins
- Be Kool
- Silvery Moon
