Has won only one of his last 18 starts but he's well suited to this trip (all five wins have come over 7f) and shaped a little better than the bare result suggests last time at York. Looks a little exposed from a handicapping perspective but he's won on a variety of ground and should go well for jockey who sponsors the race.

Has bounced back to form for this yard having seemingly lost his way. Well suited to coming off a strong pace and there could still be more to come off this mark over this trip. Ought to go well provided he can get cover from his draw on the wing.

Best effort for some time in a valuable Class 2 at Ascot three starts back and like the rest of his best efforts, that came on a firmer surface than what he will get here. However, has won on softer ground and application of a first-time hood is an interesting move. Needs a career best to take this.

Last of eight at Jagersro, Sweden last time in a Listed race and well beaten on AW Championships Final's Day the time before. Talented horse on his day but he's a complicated type who is no doubt better on the AW and likely to struggle in a competitive affair such as this.

Didn't need to improve to get off the mark in a Windsor maiden as a three-year-old but has struggled a little since and he's been a beaten favourite on each of his last four starts. Soft ground is an unknown but booking of top jockey is in his favour and likely to justify the market support at some stage.

Not won since 2014 and sliding down the handicap as a result. No obvious excuses when third of nine last time and unlikely to want the ground to get too soft; probably needs more relief from the assessor.

Won his first two starts in good style, typically professional for a youngster from this yard, and not beaten far when losing out last time at Musselburgh. More improvement to come and front two pulled clear that day so 4lb rise perhaps not insurmountable.

Has been very frustrating to follow and not won since his second start back in 2014. Well beacked on several occasions but clearly not giving his all and he needs his jockey to be worth every ounce of his 7lb claim if he is to bounce back here

Forecasts

Khamaary (2/1), Makzeem (4/1), Twin Appeal (6/1), Ballymore Castle (7/1), Ultimate Avenue (7/1), Charles Molson (15/2), Shady Mccoy (8/1), Ice Lord (9/1), Professor (16/1), Scottish Glen (16/1), Supersta (25/1)

Verdict

Khamaary is the unexposed one in the line up but he will need to improve a decent chunk after being put up another 4lb and minor preference is for TWIN APPEAL who is an ultra-consistent type who gets the services of Silvestre De Sousa. Ice Lord may be best of the rest after bouncing back to form recently.

  3. Ice Lord
