Chased home smart types on her first three starts over 5f but improved for the step up to 6f at Nottingham last time when running on to land a novice auction. Tougher task conceding weight all round now.
Has improved with each run to date, culminating in a win over 5f at Lingfield earlier this month. Shapes as though there is more to come from her over this extra furlong and likely to make her presence felt.
Relished the soft ground when opening her account at the third attempt over 5f at Leicester last month before chasing home a good winner at Chelmsford. No reason why she shouldn't prove at least as effective over this extra furlong. Respected.
Cost 23,000 gns and looks the part on paper but showed nothing on her debut at Leicester before running a better race on rattling fast ground at Bath. Open to further improvement but others more convincing right now.
Comes from a good family and was well-supported on her debut over 5f at Nottingham (good) last month but never really got competitive, going down by 7L to Wings of The Rock. Still early days and no surprise to see a much-improved display over this extra furlong.
Unfancied and soundly beaten on her debut over 6f at Kempton when racing wide at the turn. Likely to do better on this straight track and the yard will be hoping for a big run considering it sponsors the race!
Slowly away and soundly beaten on her debut over 6f at Chepstow (soft) earlier this month. Costs 20,000 guineas and holds a Super Sprint entry here, so hard to believe there isn't more to come.
Cost 20,000 guineas and belied odds of 100/1 with a promising Leicester debut last month. Raced keenly but not beaten far and should do better over this longer trip, though yard rarely strike with juveniles.
Intense Focus filly bought for just £2,400. Dam won a couple of races as a juvenile over 7f but it would be a surprise if she proved forward enough to oblige first time out.
Stable not renowned for juvenile winners on turf and this filly hasn't really looked like winning a race in four starts, despite not disgracing herself on on any occasion. Looks one for handicaps later on.
Half-sister to the 7f winner Hold The Star and the juvenile 5f winner Falcon Prince. Yard sent out a smart juvenile winner at Salisbury last month, so may be worth a second look.
Forecasts
Lexington Grace (4/1), One For June (9/2), Show Of Force (11/2), Queen Of Kalahari (6/1), Magic Applause (6/1), Sienna Says (13/2), Shoyd (16/1), Controversial Lady (20/1), Isabella Mayson (25/1), Cove Beach (25/1), Changing (50/1)
There was a lot to like about the way Magic Applause won under Silvestre De Sousa at Lingfield and, though this step up in trip will suit, it remains to be seen whether the filly can reproduce the same level of form under today's inexperienced pilot. With that in mind, preference is for QUEEN of KALAHARI who boasts a similar profile and who won't be inconvenienced by any ease in the going having won in the mud at Leicester. Nottingham winner Lexington Grace is another obvious threat, whilst there should be more One For June and Shoyd.
- Queen Of Kalahari
- Magic Applause
- One For June
