Tough, reliable AW handicapper who seems to handle most types of artificial surfaces. In good form, but consequently under the cosh from the handicapper, and continues to inch up the weights without winning. Most effective over 7F.
Progressing with each and every start, and comfortably took a 1m2f maiden at Windsor in mid May by ¾L on his penultimate start, and shaped well on handicap debut at Yarmouth (1m) when beating all bar the eased 2L winner Selection. Up 1lb, and a slight concern this won't be enough of a stamina test at this trip on AW debut.
Beaten 2L by Mazzini over 6F on his last visit to this track in November 2016, but yet to really prove he goes much beyond 7F (placed) with both career successes coming over 6F on turf.
Not won since 2015 and yet to get off the mark for this yard but he did run well at Leicester a couple of starts back when third to Gallipoli. Has fairy solid past career form at this track over 1m (record reads; 5,2,2,4,3), but really needs a strong pace to aim at to be seen to best effect.
Turf maiden, but has won on Tapeta at Newcastle in August 2016 in a race which took very little winning. Seems to have trained on from his juvenile campaign well enough without necessarily looking a winner in waiting.
Fairly consistent AW performer, although it should be noted his best form on synthetics has come on Fibresand (a pair of 1m Southwell victories) and Tapeta (runner up to Mukalal at Wolverhampton earlier this month). Well beaten in a tough 1m Sandown handicap latest and looks high enough in the weights now on the AW.
Noted making good late headway when approximately 2½L third to Keyser Soze over 7F here late last month, so this trip of 1m could prove ideal. Cost 115,000 gns as a yearling, and the signs indicate that this lightly raced three-year-old is on the up.
A late season improver as a juvenile, winning on turf at Hamilton (heavy) and on the Tapeta at Newcastle. No match for Royal Ascot winner Stradivarius at Beverley on his comeback in April, but he's been solid if unspectacular since. This trip of 1m appears to be his optimum.
Course winner (7F in April), but not raced on the AW since and now runs from a 10lb higher mark. Beaten from lower marks on turf more recently, admittedly a runner up at Salisbury last month. Others better treated.

Chiefofchiefs (3/1), Glory of Paris (9/2), Abatement (5/1), Election Day (5/1), Mutamid (8/1), Devil's Bridge (9/1), Brilliant Vanguard (10/1), Vantage Point (14/1), Mister Music (16/1), Glorious Power (25/1)
ABATEMENT fits the profile of an improving three-year-old, and he is strongly fancied to relish this step up in trip and take full advantage of the weight that he receives from some hardy, but harshly handicapped elders. With the in-form Keiran Shoemark aboard, he's taken to get the better of the likes of Mister Music and Chiefofchiefs.
