Career high mark appears to be just holding him at the moment after he had a really good season last year winning on four starts. Latest run at York gives him a chance but a mark of 85 does look tough.
Epsom winner last year when with the Johnston team and made a decent enough start for his new yard at Nottingham. Failed to back that up though and just has a little bit to prove now in a tough contest.
Stable could hardly be in better form this year and he contributed to the total at Chepstow last time out on testing ground so clearly won't mind any rain here. Up 2lb for that win which is manageable and a player in this.
A winner at the end of last season he looked well enough on his return this on the AW at Kempton Park. He's struck out since though at Ayr and that leaves him with questions to answer here.
Not won for a while now despite looking as though he could on a few occasions and he ought to be able to handle this sort of mark. The hood goes back on and a strong pace and big field may suit his run style.
Still to score on turf his third over C&D was a reasonable piece of form but it's questionable whether it is good enough to see him score here. Will be suited by a strong pace but has looked a hard ride on occasions and likely to need a collapsing pace to score here.
Has often looked as though he could be better than his mark but overall has disappointed more times than he's pleased. Yet to score for his current connection and probably best watched.
Dual mile winner last year his return to the track this year looked sound effort but has failed to build on that run. Has won over C&D and quite well weighted if he can raise his game.
C&D winner last time out on his debut for this yard winning off his highest ever mark (80). Up 3lb for that win and was suited by the way the race developed and granted a similarly strong pace should go well again here.
Stable making a welcome return to action and the cheekpieces go on for the first time in an effort to find some improvement after some lack-lustre efforts this year.
One of two from this yard who are just getting going again after a stable closure and his sole success came almost two years ago. Form this year has been very up and down and hard to see him getting involved here based on his Ayr run last time.
Visor now goes on for the first-time and his winning return on the AW in February all seems a long time ago now. Drops down in trip but his recent record isn't what one would call convincing.
Not what you call a particularly straight forward sort but he managed to find some improvement to take a Ripon handicap over a mile off a mark of 78. Back up in the weight and trip last time out at the same track and regressed back to his former level.
Three-time winner last season and looks to be running back to some sort of form this season when third at Hamilton last time. This trip looks a little on the short side for him these days and will need a sound pace to aim at here to be seen at his best.
From last year's winning stable (also won the Plate) but this one looks as though he will find it tough to make it a follow-up for them in the race. He did make a successful turf debut at Doncaster but this is far tougher and his last run at Chester hardly inspires.
Comes here under a 6lb penalty for winning at Doncaster last time over a mile a victory that took him off the "cold list". This will be tougher but the yard is going well at the moment and not totally written off.

Carnageo (13/2), Silvery Moon (13/2), King's Pavilion (8/1), Goring (8/1), Georgian Bay (10/1), Rousayan (10/1), Worlds His Oyster (11/1), Pensax Boy (12/1), Dark Devil (12/1), Hidden Rebel (12/1), Boots And Spurs (16/1), Shouranour (16/1), Strong Steps (20/1), Briyouni (28/1), Lagenda (33/1), Intensical (33/1), Zoravan (33/1)
The second of two big field handicaps on the card and this one is no easier than the first it being a competitive contest. Intensical has scrapped in here via a penalty off bottom weight and its not hard to see him going well here along with Carnageo and Goring who will both appreciate a strongly run race. There are four C&D winners in his with Silvery Moon amongst them and he would be of interest if he could raise his game but of those successful here before its PENSAX BOY who makes the most appeal to follow-up his win here last time and land this historic prize.
- Pensax Boy
- Goring
- Intensical
