Rattled off a hat-trick last year which culminated in him winning a Group 2 at Newmarket towards the end of last season. Well beaten in the Lockinge on his first try at the highest level but interesting to see whether the drop right back in trip helps him. The suspicion is that he will find a few too good.

Won a handicap out in Meydan this winter before running a big race on dirt on Dubai World Cup night. Ran well behind Tasleet on softer ground than would have been ideal last time at York but work to do to turn the form around with that rival and this is a far deeper contest.

Won a couple of Group 3s in France last year and started this year in good form. Runner-up behind Muthmir in a Group 2 at Chantilly last time and that rival has franked the form by running well behind Lady Aurelia in the King's Stand earlier in the week. Likely to find a few too good but may run into a place.

Career best came over C&D on Champions Day behind The Tin Man in what was probably a slightly below par Group 1 but followed that effort up with a narrow Listed success at Doncaster. Struggled in a pair of Group races this time around and he probably needs a career best to even place. Well suited to coming off a strong pace.

Runner-up in this last year but he was a little below form for the rest of his campaign. Not disgraced in two outings this time around but no doubt he has to find improvement from somewhere. First-time tongue-tie fitted.

Won a couple of handicaps last year and finished runner-up behind Portage at this meeting last year over the mile in the Royal Hunt Cup. Has always looked better suited to further than this and he will need them to go too fast on the front end to have any sort of chance.

Won a pair of Group 1 races last year and he was particularly impressive in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket in what looked like a particularly strong renewal. Disappointing over the mile at the Breeders' Cup and he was well beaten in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan on return to action this year. Should do better back on faster ground and jockey booking an obvious positive but others arrive in better form.

Runner-up to The Right Man in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan and a stiff 6f should be right up his street here. Faster ground shouldn't inconvenience him and while he clearly needs a career best, he gives the impression he's thriving of late. Interesting runner.

Progressive last year but limitations seemingly exposed at the very top level. Has work to do to turn the form around with Tasleet from last time out but return to faster ground should be in his favour at least.

Won a Group 2 last year but well below form this time around and he needs soft ground to be seen at his best. First-time visor applied.

Career best when runner-up to Limato in last year's Darley July Cup and proved that was no fluke with several fine subsequent efforts in Group 1 company. Has been a while since he got his head in front but return to faster ground is sure to suit and first-time visor could eek out a little improvement.

May have needed his comeback run in a Listed contest and bounced back to form in a Group 2 at York last time in soft conditions. Clearly not been the easiest to train but he as a useful turn of foot and he could be even better on quicker ground.

Won the Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai this winter and had a few of these in behind that day. However, looks best suited to cut in the ground and looks unlikely to get that here. One to consider if the rain comes.

Won what would appear to be a slightly below par Group 1 here over C&D on Champions Day but he progressed well last season and will no doubt come on for his reappearance at York last time. Possibly a little more effective with cut in the ground and likes to come off a strong pace.

Comprehensive winner of a Listed contest on Lincoln Day but not in the same form at York last month. Possibly caught out by the softer conditions and should enjoy the ground here but looks out of his depth.

Listed winner at Newmarket last year and fair effort behind Brando in a Group 3 earlier in the season. Looks short of the required level of form but there's very little pace in the race and his jockey may be able to dictate matters on the front end. Not dismissed.

Won a fillies' Group 3 at the Gloriuous Goodwood meeting last year and should come on for her Listed win on return to action this year. Fair bit more to find in a Group 1 against the opposite sex though.

Four-time winner last year but they all came in handicap company and she's been well beaten on both starts in Group company. Runner-up in a Listed race at Windsor last time but she has to find improvement to land any sort of blow in this.

Progressive filly last year and she rounded off her campaign with a Listed win. Yard do well with their fillies but she has well over a stone of improvement to find on what she's shown so far if she's even going to challenge for a place here.

Forecasts

Limato (2/1), The Tin Man (9/2), Tasleet (7/1), Magical Memory (8/1), Librisa Breeze (11/1), The Right Man (14/1), Long On Value (14/1), Suedois (25/1), Aclaim (25/1), Dancing Star (25/1), Al Jazi (33/1), Kachy (33/1), Comicas (33/1), Finsbury Square (40/1), Growl (40/1), Tupi (66/1), Windfast (66/1), Mobsta (100/1), Kassia (100/1)

Verdict

Limato brings the best form to the table here but there's no doubt he's been a little disappointing on his most recent starts and he needs to come right back to his best form if he is to take this. Long On Value is an interesting runner and he ought to enjoy the nature of this track. However, it's TASLEET who gives the impression we are yet to see the best of him and he won comfortably in a York Group 2 last time. Suedois got close to Limato last time and shouldn't be ruled out if he returns to form in the faster ground.
  1. Tasleet
  2. Suedois
  3. Long On Value
