Went off favourite on handicap debut where a clear leader probably ensured the race developed unsatisfactorily for him. Not beaten far and remains on the same mark with yard 6-11 at the track.
Dual Haydock winner in 2016 who has been in the grip of the handicapper for some time. Fourth in a ladies race on Saturday and he could find his current wellbeing a factor in a race where many of these have questions to answer.
Won a Salisbury maiden for Ralph Beckett last summer and bought by these connections for £50,000 in December. Should come on for her most recent effort at Pontefract on return from a significant absence.
Still a maiden and looks a complex character. Never dangerous on both starts for new connections, but he will be dangerous from this mark once they fathom him out.
Both wins in a 22 race career have come over this trip including one here last July off a 2lb higher mark. Lightly raced since and last two efforts have been poor but worth noting he has bounced back from dismal performances previously. The current form of the stable (3-91 since May) is more of a concern.

Masterpaver (5/4), New World Power (15/8), Under Attack (9/2), Tamayuz Magic (8/1), Desert Way (10/1), Carthage (16/1)
Most of these have questions to answer regarding their current readiness to be competitive. The exceptions would include New World Power who was well supported to score at Doncaster of his handicap debut and it is doubtful the race went according to plan. That was just his fourth race and he remains open to improvement. However, although his Sandown maiden form would make him well handicapped, his later effort at Salisbury gives him something to find. It is possible he will prove difficult to win with and on this occasion MASTERPAVER may know too much. Richard Fahey's charge was in action on Saturday in a ladies race and had shaped well on his penultimate start. His handicap mark can hardly be described as attractive but he is in form and has fewer questions to answer than most in this lineup.
- Masterpaver
- New World Power
- Desert Way
