Being There
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: W Buick| T: C Appleby
3/1
February foal out of a French 1000 Guineas winner. Cost a cool $1.4 million as a yearling and, unless the market vibes suggest otherwise, he will surely take all the beating first time out with yard's juveniles going so well.
Cost 16,000 guineas as a two-year-old and is out of a 7f/1m winning juvenile. Not an encouraging sign that cheekpieces are applied for his debut and would be a surprise winner first time out for a yard with a poor juvenile strike-rate.

March foal who cost €65,000, being a half-brother to a couple of winners between 5f and 7f. Yard capable of readying a newcomer and positive market vibes would be interesting.

Changed hands for 30,000 guineas as a yearling, having cost less as a foal. Likeable pedigree and boasts an entry for next year's Derby but yard's record with juveniles isn't great.

Coast 55,000 guineas as a juvenile and is a half-brother to several winners, notably the smart middle-distance performer Change The World. Yard has already had a fair share of juvenile winners this year, so worth a second look.

March foal. Pedigree not as eyecatching as some in this race and, though yard is no stranger to juvenile success, others boast more appealing profiles.

February foal who cost £75,000 and is a half-brother to a couple of winners, including the 6f juvenile scorer Monoshka. Wouldn't appear to be the owner's first string going by jockey bookings.

A half-brother to a pair of useful winners and cost 250,000 guineas as a foal. Evidently the stable's number one hope and looks one for the shortlist given that the yard can ready a newcomer.

Pitched straight into a conditions race for his debut over C&D (soft) and finished an encouraging fourth behind three previous winners. Sure to come on for that and maybe able to put the experience to good use against a field of newcomers.

April foal who is a sister to the smart Piping Rock and a half-sister to numerous winners. Market the best guide on her debut but evidently not the stable's first choice on jockey bookings.

Forecasts

Rogue (7/4), Curiosity (5/2), Being There (3/1), Mutafarrid (8/1), Lifeboat (20/1), Anna Nerium (25/1), Motabassim (33/1), Lucky's Dream (40/1), Bullington Bandit (80/1), El Borracho (100/1)

Verdict

It's a measure of the regard Richard Hannon has for Rogue that he was happy to pitch him straight into a conditions race for his debut and, all things considered, he acquitted himself well behind three previous winners on soft ground which may not have been ideal. With that experience to draw on, he could prove a tough nut to crack against a field of newcomers but the $1.4 million purchase BEING THERE boasts ominous credentials on paper and may prove a cut above with the yard doing so well. Mutafarrid looks the most interesting of the remainder.
  1. Being There
  2. Rogue
  3. Mutafarrid
