Won Redcar 6f handicap on seasonal bow and has done well in two starts since. Clearly in good heart and should run well again despite the steadier of top weight.
13-race maiden sprinter but has run well on a number of occasions. Falling mark suggests he has a sporting chance if things fall his way to get off the mark.
Beaten just a nose in C&D maiden in September and seemed to have trained on when shaping nicely on recent seasonal reappearance. Locally based trainer very shrewd and looks one for the short list on handicap bow.
Raised 5lb for comfortable success at Ripon recently and clearly in fine fettle. Went close here when runner-up in April and should be on the premises once again.
Three starts in maidens last term, running well on first two before appearing to struggle over 7f. Makes handicap debut here for top yard and market should indicate just how much is expected of him. Certainly respected.
Six-race maiden for Aidan O'Brien makes debut for new connections. Given a chance by the handicapper and any market interest might prove significant for good sprint trainer.
Appears better at the minimum trip than over 6f on evidence of recent runs so doubtful he will last it out, especially if ground eases in any way.
Won 6f Ripon maiden last season and likley needed the run when well beaten on recent return. Not ruled out of calculations but needs to step up his game.
Should be suited by strong pace and has run creditably in last two starts, including over C&D. Feasibly handicapped so has place claims, at least, once again.
Placed twice in Ireland for Dermot Weld, but generally disappointing in four starts so far for new yard. Handicapper has relented though and jockey booking a positive sign.
Evidence points to him being better at 5f having weakened on all starts over this trip to date. Hard to get too excited about his chance after modest reappearance run.
Campaigned exclusively at the minimum trip to date and has gone close without managing to get his head in front. Worth a try over this furlong longer distance but has a point or two to prove.
7f experiment failed dismally last time out but not without hope on last season's series of placed effort for previous handler. Has hinted some ability still remains.
Caught the eye in C&D handicap in April but didn't build on that last time. Still of some intererst though and weighted to be there or thereabouts.
Struggled in three maidens to date and makes handicap bow here. Needs to improve but that is not ruled out. Others make more appeal though.

Plenty of potential improvers in this 3-year-old handicap, but locally trained GAVAL might come out on top if the cards fall his way in this big field. He was only narrowly beaten in a C&D maiden last year and hinted on his seasonal return he might be ready to strike. Top weights Stubytuesday and Sheepscar Lad are respected, while the likes of Arnold, Kroy, Pavers Pride and Uncle Charlie are others worth a second glance.
