Scored over C&D last April then followed up later in the summer in fair York sprint handicap. Ideally suited by some give in the ground so any rain would be a bonus. Should be fitter after reappearance run.
Two wins when trained by Richard Fahey but yet to score in eight starts for current yard. Ran well over C&D in April but not shone since. Has been cut some slack by handicapper though.
Three sound efforts on turf so far this term without troubling the judge, but uncertain if drop back to six furlongs will help having stayed on well over 7f at York last time. First-time visor applied here.
Won mile maiden for Andrew Balding last term but hasn't sparkled in three runs for new yard. Went off far too fast last time at Carlisle over 1m so drops back to sprinting now.
Falling to an attractive mark and now 5lb lower than when winning on soft ground at Pontefract last season. Any rain would be a big help and market may provide some clues to expectations.
Hasn't run well in two outings so far this term but top jockey now takes over from inexperienced apprentice so connections may feel he's on the way back. Not to be too easily dismissed.
Drop back from 7f should help and hans't been beaten far in all starts this season. Prefers a sound surface on turf so wouldn't want the forecast rain to arrive.
Took advantage of relatively low rating when justifying favouritism at Catterick last time. Previous C&D winner was once useful and could still be well weighted on old form. Yard had big winner at Epsom at the weekend.
Shock winner on debut in C&D maiden last April. Absent for a year after until returned this term and has finished stone last in two starts suggesting he has issues and is hard to recommend.
Ended last term with 6f win at Redcar and ran well on only start so far this season over today's C&D. Good jockey booking indicates some confidence and is expected to play his part.
Won at Ripon and Newcastle last term but needed a few runs to hit peak form. Seasonal debut here so likely to be better for this outing.

Forecasts
Meshardal (7/2), Questo (7/2), Buccaneers Vault (6/1), Pomme De Terre (7/1), Vincenzo Coccotti (7/1), Compton Park (7/1), Etienne Gerard (8/1), Rose Marmara (12/1), Dinneratmidnight (14/1), Round The Island (25/1), Bernie's Boy (25/1), Oh James (33/1)
With his yard still among the winners MESHARDAL is taken to follow up his recent Catterick win. On old form he is still well handicapped and won over C&D in the past. Etienne Gerard hinted he may be coming to hand and a positive jockey booking suggests he's expected to figure, while Dinnertamidnight is attractively weighted and could go well if the ground eases. Veteran Compton Park should be on the premises as well, along with Questo.
