Cheap purchase. Won open point-to-point at Larkhill last year. Now with former champion trainer and wouldn't have to be a world beater to make a winning debut.
Point-to-point winner who has shown some ability in three starts so far under rules. Fair second at Southwell on hurdles bow last time out and looks one for the short list.
Soon beaten in four-runner novice hurdle at Taunton on debut for current yard. May have needed the run and far too early to cast aside, but more needed now.

No obvious sign of ability when always struggling and pulled up on hurdles bow here 17 days ago. Very hard to enthuse over.

Placed in each of his last three starts including when short-headed at Kempton in April. That effort gives him a big chance but doesn't appear the most consistent of performers. Still one to seriously consider.

Won maiden point-to-point last year and hinted at ability in two starts under rules so far. Might do better once going handicapping.

22-race maiden on Flat and over Jumps. Out of form since the autumn and pulled up at Warwick when last seen in December. Has plenty to prove.
Placed in all three bumpers and runner-up last time in Ludlow novice hurdle, looking rather one paced over the final two flights. Should be thereabouts but might be vulnerable to a finisher once again.

Ex-French Flat race, a maiden after 13 starts under both codes. Campaigned in novice chases of late without success and returns to timber possibly looking for a boost to his confidence.
Very little to get excited about in four runs in bumpers to date. Hurdles debut this time but hard to see it bringing about an instant transformation.

Forecasts

Take To Heart (15/8), Focaccia (5/2), Caid Des Malberaux (4/1), Magic River (8/1), Charlie Papa Lima (8/1), The Coffee Hunter (20/1), Daylami Days (20/1), Don't Tell My Mrs (33/1), Renewing (50/1), Scotsbrook Night (66/1)

Verdict

Unlikely to be any superstars here so a chance for CHARLIE PAPA LIMA to get off the mark over hurdles after showing ability on all starts so far. Winning point-to-pointer Caid Des Malberaux is the dark horse of the race on his debut under rules and represents a top yard so could prove a very big danger. The Queen's Take To Heart should be on the premises and isn't discounted as a potential winner, while Focaccia is another who could step up to the plate in this finale.
  1. Charlie Papa Lima
  2. Caid Des Malberaux
  3. Take To Heart
