Slowly coming back down to a more workable mark and has gone well here in the past but yard have had just five winners from their last 91 runners and he's opposable from this wide draw.
Two-time course winner who got somewhere near back to his best at Newbury towards the end of last year. Still not handicapped out of things but best suited to a little cut in the ground.
Strong stayer who completed a hat-trick at the start of last season before losing his way a little. Bounced back with a win at Doncaster towards the end of last season but shown very little in two starts this year and draw unlikely to be ideal here.
Not won since a Listed win at Chester in 2015 and doesn't look a straight-forward sort, often taking a keen hold in his races. Hard to fancy in current form but any rain would be a bonus.
Impressive 7L winner of a handicap at Doncaster last August and very effective when allowed to dominate from the front, as he showed at that same course last time out. 5lb probably underestimates him a little but may struggle to get to the front from this wide draw.
Typically tough consistent sort for this yard but struggling a little from a handicapping perspective of late and has been known to miss the kick on occasions. Jockey has a good strike-rate around here and rides the course well so not without a place chance if they go a decent gallop.
Inconsistent performer but did get his head in front over C&D last year. Largely struggled since and very little scope from this mark. Trainer won this last year.
Back to the winning mark that saw him win at this meeting last year but that's his only win in his last 21 starts and he's very inconsistent. Not discounted if he's on a going day and proven around here.
Course winner but he's not a straightforward sort, often racing keenly in the early stages of races and can miss the break. Hit and miss since his latest win here but does give the impression he has a contest such as this in him off this mark.
Won here back n April and while he was no match for a well-handicapped Sir Michael Stoute horse at Chester last time, he beat the rest easily enough. Yard still in good form and looks the one to beat with more to come this season.
Not won since his debut and reverts to 1m2f after an outing over the mile last time. Doesn't look entirely straightforward but trainer has been in good form and interesting to see whether there will be any money for him.
Very effective on the AW but hasn't looked capable of scoring off a reduced turf mark in recent times. Would probably want to see the ground good to firm if he's to be of any interest. Yard do well with their runners around here.
Made all when winning over an extended 1m2f at Chester (good) earlier this month. Had finished a neck second over 1m3f at Southwell prior to that and an interesting runner off a mark 3lb higher than for his Chester success; well handicapped if one goes far enough back in his form.
Returns here having won this race last year off an 8lb lower mark. Fair reason for that having placed just once in 13 starts since but has to be of interest on these terms if any rain falls.
Forecasts
Brorocco (11/4), Fidaawy (4/1), Not So Sleepy (10/1), Final (10/1), Imshivalla (12/1), Grapevine (12/1), What About Carlo (14/1), Speed Company (14/1), Innocent Touch (16/1), Examiner (16/1), Top Beak (16/1), Abareeq (16/1), Storm King (20/1), Great Hall (33/1)
Imshivalla won this last year and quite remarkably runs off 8lb lower this time around. However, there would need to be a softening of conditions if she was to play a part. BROROCCO was a winner here two starts back and he looks like the solid candidate in the line up. Fidaawy looks leniently treated and could go well if he can get to the front under Franny Norton who rides this course well.
- Brorocco
- Fidaawy
- Imshivalla
