Relatively lightly-raced type (finished fourth in Air Force Blue's National Stakes four starts ago), and failed to land a blow in a series of handicaps last year. Off a lower weight now but best watched on this reappearance.
Has been in good form so far this year, looking like a genuine 7f specialist which always helps over this trip, and his previous course form should also help him as long as he can overcome a rising mark.
Hasn't managed to replicate his best form from last year so far in 2017, and looks too high in the handicap to land a meaningful blow, even though the ground should suit.
Seemed to have lost his way recently before going very close last time having showed a renewed energy and exuberance in the preliminaries. A 4lb rise seems a little harsh but he could go close again if showing repeated enthusiasm for the task.
Ran one of the better races of his career to finish second at Lingfield last time, appreciating the return to turf from an all-weather campaign. Interesting now up 1lb in first time cheek pieces.
Is two from two over this C&D and has also been in fine form in his recent all-weather starts, for the most part. Continued that progress with victory at Chelmsford last time and is only 4lb higher for his return to the turf.
Made a solid start to his career as a handicapper and was even campaigned in pattern events for a time, but has been regressive since and is best avoided until showing some of that talent once again.
No win since August 2013, and though he has put in some decent performances recently, including over this C&D, a repeat of those would come up short of the required standard here.
Not totally disgraced in recent starts and now slips to a career-low mark. Interesting now returning to racing on a surface that could have some give in it.
Inconsistent over shorter and this is in his recent campaign, the return to 7f is interesting, but generally prompts more questions than enthusiasm given his recent form.
Well beaten by Ice Lord at Newmarket last time out but remains on a much lower mark than that rival and didn't enjoy a clear passage that day. No win since May 2014 but looked to be heading for another prior to last time's disappointment.
Has been running some nice races in defeat recently, but most of these have come on the all-weather, and he has something to prove if he is to win on the turf for the first time since only his second start.

Forecasts
Truth Or Dare (9/2), Ice Lord (5/1), Gallipoli (6/1), Calder Prince (7/1), Burnt Sugar (8/1), Ghalib (9/1), Welliesinthewater (10/1), Ballymore Castle (12/1), Gothic Empire (12/1), Tanzeel (14/1), Intense Style (16/1), Final Frontier (16/1), Lexington Times (16/1), Bertiewhittle (25/1)
Though he was behind Ice Lord at Newmarket last time, BALLYMORE CASTLE shaped very promisingly in that race given he had no clear run, and now receives even more weight from that reopposing rival, who nonetheless may again prove second best in this contest, if able to channel his enthusiasm for racing in the same way as he did there. Welliesinthewater also needs considering given his 2-2 record over this C&D, albeit both off lower marks than this.
