Colt cost 38,000 gns as a yearling and represents powerful connections. His dam was a winner over this 6f trip as a juvenile and he holds an entry for the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury in July. Likely to attract plenty of market support.

March colt has already had a couple of outings, recovering from a tardy start on his debut over 5f at Lingfield in April, eventually beaten just under 5L. Not beaten far on his turf debut at Beverley over the same trip last time, the step up in trip may suit.

January colt cost 200,000 gns and has shown a degree of promise in his two races so far on turf at Brighton and Nottingham. Not unfancied in the market for both of those races, he is a surefire future winner and makes an AW debut tonight.

Colt cost 130,000 gns as a foal and is bred for speed. Closely related to a decent 6f winner, he is likely to attract plenty of support here on debut.
March foal, this son of Bated Breath is a half-brother to Mr Carbonfootprint, who scored over 6f on his debut at Ripon back in May 2013. His dam was a maiden who stayed beyond a mile. One to note in the market.

Showed a degree of promise on his debut over 5f at Lingfield in April, and was beaten just under 6L. Was sent off favourite for a 5f event at Doncaster earlier this month and again showed plenty of promise, beaten just over 3L. One for any shortlist.

April colt, he is a half-brother to a winner up to a mile and his dam was also a winner over a mile. Having his first outing this evening and the market could provide the best guide.

Made his debut over the minimum trip at Newbury in April and having made a lot of the running, he eventually faded out of contention. Although he only beat one horse home, he was beaten under 7L and has plenty of scope for improvement.

Cost $80,000 as a foal and $30,000 as a yearling and shaped with a lot of promise when making a debut over 5f at Thirsk earlier this month. Having tracked the leader throughout the race, he plugged on in determined fashion and was only beaten a neck. Step up to 6f should suit, major player.

Made her debut in a four-runner race over 5f at Southwell in April and was just touched off by Jasi, a head separating the pair at the finish. Well fancied for a similar contest at Newcastle last time, she faded in the latter stages and steps up in trip.

March filly made her debut over 5f at Nottingham earlier this month in a race won by the Mick Channon-trained, Neola. Beaten 10L, she stayed on at the one pace and should appreciate the extra furlong in this contest.

Forecasts

Awsaaf (3/1), Trusting Friend (3/1), Jaalboot (5/1), Our Man In Havana (6/1), Tony Soprano (15/2), Reflect Alexander (12/1), Crownthorpe (14/1), Global Exceed (16/1), Barbarianatthegate (16/1), Kheleyf's Girl (22/1), Shania Says (28/1), Mr Carbonator (33/1), Puramente (50/1)

Verdict

Trusting Friend has arguably the best form in the book of those that have raced so far, staying on all the way to the line in a 5f event and the extra furlong tonight should suit him. Reflect Alexander and Shania Says can step up on promising debut runs, while Global Exceed has shaped with plenty of promise so far in two outings and clearly has the ability to win a race of this nature. The market should be informative with a few nicely-bred newcomers and JAALBOOT gets the nod. He has speed on both sides of his pedigree and is taken to make a winning start.
  1. Jaalboot
  2. Global Exceed
  3. Reflect Alexander
