From a yard that do well with their sprinters he returned to form last time out taking advantage of a big drop in the weights. Won with a bit in hand and still looks well treated of a 4lb higher mark and should g well again.
Free-going sort who likes to race near the pace but has only won a maiden on the AW. He looks capable of winning a handicap but may need to settle better to do so.
Four-time course winner who is 1/1 over C&D with the win coming on his penultimate start underlining that he was in the form of his life at an advanced age of eight. Found his good run of form coming to an end last time out back on turf at Naas (blew the start) but still to be respected here back on the AW.
Course regular who has won twice over C&D and the handicapper is giving him a chance of late dropping him to a mark in the high 70's which is 6lb below his last winning mark. Ran with zest last time out at Brighton and should go well here as long as he doesn't get hooked up in a speed duel.
Looks a little exposed against some of these and although she's expected to run well the handicapper does look to have her well pegged of a mark of 76. Would need a few of these to run below form to take hand in the finish.
Speedball who loves to go from the front but will face competition for the lead here as he did last time out at Wolverhampton. Last win came in an claimer and the chances are that handicaps with a contested lead are a little too much for him.
Lightly raced for one of his age with just seven runs to his name. Used to be with Roger Varian and has only had he one run for his current yard where he looked to need the outing and might just find this 5f trip too sharp even if this is run at a good pace.
Forecasts
Brother Tiger (2/1), Tailwind (4/1), Rosealee (9/2), Cultured Knight (11/2), Sandfrankskipsgo (8/1), Menelik (9/1), Come On Dave (16/1)
Blink and you might miss this 5f dash as there is pace and more pace in the field with Come on Dave, Brother Tiger and Sandfrankskipsgo all looking to set the pace if they run to their normal style. Brother Tiger looks to be still well-handicapped but that pace pressure could just dent his finishing effort and set this up for a closer like CULTURED KNIGHT. He’s always looked capable of winning a handicap and a good pace here may well help him settle better. Add Menelik into the equation and you have all you need for a cracking quick as you like 5f handicap sprint.
- Cultured Knight
- Brother Tiger
- Menelik
