Cost £28,000 from the first crop of Lethal Force. Dam won a couple of races as a juvenile. None of the yard's other five juvenile runners on turf have made the frame this season.
Bought for 52,000 gns as a foal and subsequently sold as a yearling for 26,000 gns. Half-brother to some speedy types notably Master Of War who was a useful juvenile. Yard have an average strike rate here but rider was 10-30 on their juveniles in 2016 for a 10 points level stakes profit.

Maxios colt, cost €38,000 as a yearling. Dam was related to a 1m4f Group 3 winner. Shaped better at Doncaster last time and extra furlong will help, although ground is forecast to be quicker. Yard took this last year.

Bought for €20,000. Has a middle-distance pedigree and best watched for the future. Stable's first juvenile runner of the season and they landed a division of this last year.

Has been kept busy and shaped less well on the AW last time. This may not be a competitive race for the course and he must have place claims at least based on his efforts at Bath and Doncaster. Yard 2-11 in the past fortnight.

Rip Van Winkle colt out of a dam who won a couple of AW sprints. Cost a mere £2,000. Yard's four previous juvenile runners this term have failed to make the frame.
Manduro colt bought for €18,000 out of a French dam who won over 1m1f. Pedigree suggests this will be too quick for him.
Piccolo filly out of a dam who won three minor races for this trainer. Bought for a meagre £600 and hardly likely to be good enough.
Red Jazz filly bought for €5,000 as a half-sister to Silver Springs who won races for this trainer. Yard are 2-45 with their juveniles this term which is well below their usual standard.

Bought for €16,000 as a half-sister to the yard's Princess Way. Dam effective from 6f-1m and won three races. Sire's two-year-olds did well in 2016 and this would be one to note in the market for a yard that often introduce a smart one here. Yard's juveniles have not made their customary good start to the campaign.

Forecasts

Rampant Lion (5/2), Zabaletaswansong (11/4), Optimum Time (9/2), Barbarianatthegate (9/1), Autumn Lodge (10/1), Hemingford (14/1), Groundnut (16/1), Maveway (20/1), Sheila's Empire (20/1), Lastoneforthecraic (33/1), Dreamboat Annie (100/1)

Verdict

Rampant Lion and Maveway are a couple of newcomers worth noting in the ring. The former represents a strong trainer/jockey combination with an impressive recent record when teaming up in juvenile races. Autumn Lodge looks the pick of her handlers two runners and may do better now back on turf having run below par when a well beaten second at Kempton last time. ZABALETASWANSONG shaped well enough at Doncaster last time to make him the one to beat in this providing conditions don't prove too quick.
  1. Zabaletaswansong
  2. Rampant Lion
  3. Autumn Lodge
