Only win came here over C&D but that was some time ago now and the losing run is starting to grow. Ran respectably last time out at Wolverhampton (better than distance beaten by) and now operating at an even lower level.
Still a maiden but not running badly of late and wasn't seen to best effect last time out at Lingfield over this same trip. Given a repeat of that run would have a chance here.
Yet to win a race (0/10) and has run poorly on her last two starts and now tries a mile for the first time off a career low mark.
Southwell regular who very rarely runs let alone wins anywhere else (only other wins have come at Beverley). Has run here before but hard to think he will do any better than the seventh he finished on his last visit here.
Another Southwell winner who is probably at her best on that surface but can operate elsewhere. Ran a strange race last time out at Nottingham (started slowly) and best treating with caution on the attitude she showed there.
Not the easiest sort and is often slowly away and look a hard ride. Still to win a race although she did run a respectable race here over 7f last time out.
Wolverhampton winner in January finally getting off the mark after plenty of efforts. Not in the same form in her last two starts though and hard to recommend here.
May well have shaped much better than her final finishing position last time out (trip too far) after she travelled well but had her stamina stretched. Remains one to keep an eye on back in trip and off a basement mark.
Her runs in maidens suggested that she would have a chance in low-grade handicaps but it's not really worked out that way and she's run poorly in both handicap starts so far.
Has at least won a couple of races which is more than can be said for many in this and she's run respectably on her last few starts and this mile trip should suit.
Remains a maiden and has run poorly on his last two starts after showing some ability off a 4lb higher mark at Wolverhampton. Looks a better horse on the AW than on the turf.
Course winner over 7f and ran better in first-time blinkers after a long break last time out (started 50/1). Was suited by the way the race was run last time but interesting at this low level.
Makes his handicap debut at a lowly level after three runs in maidens (started at 100/1 plus each time) and hard to know what to expect here.
Running well below form on all four starts this year and has hardly beaten a horse home within those runs. Best watched here even off this lowly mark.
Starts life for a new yard having won off higher marks in the past but has looked nothing like his former self in his last few starts. Can be given a chance on previous form but you do have to forget his recent form.
Handicap debutante who has made little impression on his three maiden starts all on the AW and steps up to a mile here. From a stable that can land a gamble and best watched in the market.
Forecasts
Mulled Wine (4/1), Thatsthewaytodoit (6/1), Majestic Girl (6/1), Dukes Meadow (7/1), Waggle (10/1), Star Links (10/1), Pivotal Dream (12/1), Free To Roam (14/1), Just Fab (16/1), General Tufto (16/1), Ada Misobel (16/1), Rising Sunshine (20/1), Ashford Island (20/1), Emily Goldfinch (25/1), Zerafino (33/1), Fire Empress (66/1)
Not a race that holds much appeal as a betting contest with plenty of these struggling for form even at this bargain basement level. Dukes Meadow looks to be one who could figure if you can forgive the long losing run and Free To Roam is another who has at least shown something at a slightly higher level. Ashford Island may well be able to improve a little and Star Links is thrown in on his old form. Overall though a chance is taken with THATSTHEWAYTODOIT who travelled well last time until his stamina gave out and he drops in trip here.
- Thatsthewaytodoit
- Dukes Meadow
- Ashford Island
