Won a Class 2 handicap at Haydock last year but has largely struggled upped in class in pattern company. Displayed his keen going attitude once again on comeback run at Newmarket last time and he's hard to fancy until he learns to settle better.
Hit and miss character who has been largely disappointing since missing all of the 2015 season. Proved no match for some smart rivals at Chester on his comeback run but he may come on for that effort and he has mixed it at this level in the past.
Smart winner of a Newmarket handicap off a mark of 100 last season. Found the step up to pattern level tough on first start this season and the suspicion is he may struggle in this. Has some useful form on undulating tracks and fast ground at least.
Won at this meeting last year but he was a little in and out throughout the rest of his campaign. Not been with this yard all that long and he rates the type to do better this year. Has form fresh and leading claims in this company.
Loves quicker ground and produced a career best to win the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket on final start of 2016. Not disgraced in Group 3 company on comeback run and very much up to mixing it at this level. Less questions marks than most in here and should go well.
Looked smart as a juvenile and won a Listed contest at Salisbury but struggled badly last year. May do better this year but entitled to need his comeback run and plenty to find on form.
Very useful hold-up performer on his day and four-time Group winner. Latest of those coming at Epsom last season and he should come on for his run on Lincoln day at Doncaster last month. Goes well fresh and yard could hardly be in better form so he could be hard to beat if he gets a strong pace to aim at.
Forecasts
Mount Logan (2/1), Abdon (3/1), Spark Plug (4/1), Tullius (15/2), Tony Curtis (10/1), Berkshire (12/1), First Sitting (16/1)
SPARK PLUG will love the conditions here with no rain forecast and he looks capable of gaining Black Type. Mount Logan won at this meeting last year and he's likely to do better this season while Tullius is a very genuine sort who should be thereabouts yet again.
