Went close to scoring off a lenient looking Flat mark on his return to this sphere last time. Would love any rain that falls and gets the benefit of an excellent jockey around this course.
Progressive last season and won a Chelmsford maiden over this trip with ease in August. Disappointing short-priced favourite on final start of 2016 but should improve this season and he will go close if he's ready to go on return to action. Trainer's runners can often need their seasonal reappearance though.
Career best to win at Ripon last time out and has the benefit of a pea draw here. Not fully exposed just yet, jockey rides this course well and should go close in his bid for a double.
Won in good style on the AW at Newcastle back in February but has been regressive since and well beaten at Thirsk last time, bit to prove now.
Proved well-handicapped at Newcastle two starts back but didn't quite go through with his effort here last time. Useful claimer takes off a valuable 3lb but she needs to show a better attitude to her racing if she's is to be considered for win purposes.
Losing run goes all the way back to July 2015 but that win did come here. Step up in trip is a complete unknown though and stamina has to be taken on trust.
Just one win from 12 starts but that did come here. Usually gives her running and not on a bad mark but stamina for this trip has to be a big question mark. First-time hood applied and likely to struggle from this draw.
Both his wins to date have come on the AW and unplaced in two turf efforts. Keen going sort and opposable for now.
Sole success was on soft ground at Haydock last year so will enjoy any rain that arrives. Has finished tailed off on both starts for this yard though and set to struggle again.
Forecasts
Sands Chorus (2/1), Kapstadt (5/1), Worlds His Oyster (5/1), Energia Fox (11/2), Mubajal (8/1), Fast Dancer (10/1), Dark Intention (14/1), Drago (16/1), Glance My Way (40/1)
KAPSTADT gets the narrow vote, despite his wide draw. He would love any rain that falls and he looks on a fair mark based on his hurdles exploits. Sands Chorus produced a career best last time out and may be capable of building on that while Energia Fox is a well-handicapped mare who is capable of scoring if she puts it all in.
- Kapstadt
- Sands Chorus
- Energia Fox
