Struggling a little having shown very little in three efforts in maiden company and couldn't mix at handicap level from a mark of 78 last time. Still holds a Derby entry but looks very unlikely to be heading to Epsom at this point and it would be a surprise if he was good enough to take this.
Street Cry colt, dam was a half-sister to US Graded stakes-placed dirt winner Fully Living. A mile looks the right starting point and trainer has been ticking along nicely this season. The wide draw would be the negative.
Frozen Power gelding, cost €14,000 as a yearling. Full-brother to Power Grid, half-brother to Chiclet and Daisy Bell. Dam was a winner over 7f and was a half-sister to Group 3 winner Softly Tread. Yard yet to have a winner this year and probably best watched on debut.
Helmet gelding, cost €50,000 as a foal but sold for just £2,000 earlier in the year. Half-brother to four winners and this trip looks about right on debut but the fact he was resold for such a small amount just a couple of months ago is off-putting and he's already gelded.
Beat only one of 14 rivals home in 1m soft ground maiden here in the autumn when last seen, not really improving from his debut. Likely to show more this year and yard are in much better form this time around but hard to fancy off the back of two poor efforts.
Dragon Pulse gelding, cost €32,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to six winners including two Listed winners. Yard have made a quiet start to the season though and he's hard to fancy from a wide draw with a 10lb claimer booked.
Exceed And Excel colt, cost 110,000 gns as a yearling and dam was a sprint winner with a sprint pedigree. Fair effort on debut but faded late on and will be of more interest when he's dropped back in trip.
Fastnet Rock filly, full sister to miler Balcony and a half-sister to smart filly in South Africa Oasis Dream. Dam was a winner between this trip and 1m4f in UAE and South Africa, including a Group 2 success. Yard been in flying form since the start of the season but gone a little quiet in recent weeks and market can reveal expectations on debut.
Bahamian Bounty filly, cost €13,000 as a yearling. Dam was a 7f winner and half-sister to useful 1m2f winners Kroful and Huffoof. Not seen since going off a 50/1 shot on debut over a year ago and showed very little that day. Will need to have improved a vast amount to figure here.
Makfi filly, cost €20,000 as a yearling. Related to plenty of winners, perhaps most interestingly a half-sister to Group-placed Switcher. Nice blend of speed and stamina in her pedigree and produced a promising debut at Dundalk in December. Interesting contender.
Intense Focus filly, half-sister to Edge of Sanity. Likely to want further than this but yard have hit form so not dismissed if there's any market support.

Forecasts
Auckland (5/4), Nigg Bay (9/4), Alahida (5/1), Makamamia (7/1), Bowden (7/1), Sin Sin (14/1), Casla (16/1), Hey Hey Alejandro (33/1), Frozen Moon (33/1), Hey Good Looking (33/1), Markus Twain (50/1), Hatmaker (50/1)
This may come down to the fillies in the contest and MAKAMAMIA produced a promising effort on her debut; it would be no surprise to see her run well having been given time to recover from that. Any support for Casla would be interesting given her pedigree while Bowden looks the most interesting of the colts in the line-up.
- Makamamia
- Casla
- Bowden
