The handicapper continues to give her a chance and she drops in grade again here but the last run at Lingfield on the turf was only modest. Often slow away and her best form has come over 5f.
Likes to get on with things and is a C&D winner as well as having another course win to his name over further. Ran respectably here last time out over 7f when he looked just in need of the run as his effort flattened out in the closing stages.
Consistent sort who has often run well here and has won over a mile at the track off a 5lb lower mark. Still running well of late and got back to winning form last time at Lingfield over 7f (good to soft) in a strongly run race that panned out well. Would need a career best to win this off a mark of 70 but likely to go well.
C&D winner with that win starting off a run of three wins in the middle of last year with the last win coming off a mark of 65. Struggled a bit off higher marks after that and ran a rather poor race last time out over 6f. Looking out of sorts but form figures at this course between May and September last year read 211233.
Well below form on his last two starts going with little fluency and although he has won here it takes a leap of faith to support him at the moment.
Last two wins have come over C&D off marks of 54 and 58 benefitting from having Jim Crowley riding on both occasions. Looked to be on the way back last time out when running an eye-catching race at Windsor (better than the final placing) but would have benefitted from stronger handling and has the same apprentice on board.
Hasn't yet found the winners enclosure after 13 starts and should be sharper for the run at Salisbury last time although below his peak form. Needs to find some improvement to take a hand.
Forecasts
Duke Of North (9/4), Jersey Breeze (10/3), Black Caesar (7/2), Bingo George (13/2), Essaka (10/1), Soaring Spirits (12/1), Perfect Pastime (16/1)
Soaring Spirits may well be out of form but his record here at this time of the year has to be respected and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back. Essaka is given a chance but would have a better chance with Crowley taking the ride and Black Caesar should be at concert pitch now after a couple of runs. DUKE OF NORTH has to show a little more progress but a mark of 70 doesn’t look beyond him and this consistent sort could get the strongly run race that he needs again.
- Duke Of North
- Essaka
- Soaring Spirits
