Winner on debut at Ripon last month at a big price despite showing signs of her inexperience. Shoulders a penalty for that win (though as a result of her fillies' allowance is only slightly higher in the weights than the colts), but a first time hood should help.
Nothing went right for him on debut at Thirsk earlier this month, with a slow break and problems in-running. The fact he still managed to finish fourth in highly encouraging and a big run can be expected here.
Showed plenty of improvement from his first to second starts to finish a not-disgraced fourth in a novice auction event at Ripon on his most recent start. The ground will be a slight question mark for him, as with a few of these, but he cannot be discounted.
Casamento colt, with both of his parents being winning juveniles, including at the highest level with the sire winning the Racing Post Trophy. This trip could prove to be a little sharp for him (the dam won over a minimum of 6f), but he is one to note going forward.
Didn't show too much on debut at Chester earlier in the month, however it's possible he didn't handle that specialist track, and he also goes for a trainer who isn't prolific for first time out winners, so excuses can be made for than run.
Beaten 9½L into seventh on debut at Beverley last month and will need to show plenty more here, but it's impossible that she could come on plenty for the run, with a further 2lb claimed compared to debut by her apprentice jockey.
Showed very little on debut at Ascot (5f, good to firm) when sent off at 66/1 and always racing in rear. First runner for her sire so difficult to make a case for whether his progeny could be better on soft ground, but he did win on soft to heavy (dam unraced).
Has run a pair of fair races on her two racecourse appearances so far, though it's questionable how much improvement she showed from the first start to the second. This could be easier though, and so she has strong claims once again.
Finished last of all in a maiden of apparently little account at Newcastle last month. Could show more if overcoming the greenness he exhibited that day, but ultimately another minor role awaits.
Forecasts
Danehill Desert (9/4), Queen Of Kalahari (5/2), Capla Dancer (5/1), The Golden Cue (10/1), Revenge (10/1), Rio Santos (14/1), Lady Alavesa (16/1), Abu Dhabi Doo (20/1), Time For Treacle (50/1)
DANEHILL DESERT was very unfortunate on debut, when exhibiting some of the best talent in the race but experiencing a number of issues including a poor start and stumbling at a crucial point a few furlongs out. All things being equal, he should be able to get off the mark here as long as he doesn't experience a repeat of those issues. It can pay to be drawn high here, and Revenge looks a biggest improver from the highest draw of all, while Queen of Kalahari has run two solid races so far and is another to consider.
- Danehill Desert
- Revenge
- Queen Of Kalahari
