Won heavy ground 7f Listowel maiden on debut then stepped up sharply in class and outclassed in Group 2 over a mile at the Curragh in September. Reappearance saw him well beaten off over a mile at Navan from a mark of 88, so needs to find more in this.
Filly won both 2yo outings over 7f/7½f on yielding/good ground. Returns to action after 279 days off for handicap debut and has to rank a serious contender. Yard in fine fettle and 17 per-cent at this track in previous 12 months.
Winner of 1m2f maiden at Navan (good) last month and since gone well in rated Cork contest over same trip (second, neaten 1L). Handicap debut now and with leading trainer in good form, demands maximum respect dropping in distance.
Landed the odds to win her maiden at Galway (7f, yielding to soft) but failed to back it up last time in soft to heavy ground. Trainer has a good record with horses returning from a break, though this Holy Roman Emperor filly probably has to improve to win.
Scored maiden win over 1m on AW at Dundalk in March, was 6L behind Chronicles at Cork over 1m2f last time out and has a bit of work on to get past that rival now.
Finished fifth of seven over the mile at Navan 27 days ago sporting a first-time tongue strap (retained here). Has plenty to find on form seemingly.
Won heavy ground 7f maiden at Cork in early April before taking a tilt at a Leopardstown Guineas Trial six days later, thoroughly outclassed there, now makes handicap debut with a bit of improvement needed.
Two fair runs in maidens last August to be runner-up both times but form tailed off after and has been gelded this winter. Needs to improve and may be better for this outing.
Forecasts
Chronicles (7/4), Sweet Sounds (5/2), Allography (7/1), Liberatio (10/1), Escape Clause (11/1), Maximus Daia (11/1), Ontheiflist (16/1), Lost In Silence (16/1)
A couple of handicap debutants make most appeal here in Chronicles and the unbeaten SWEET SOUNDS. The former was just beaten over a longer trip at Cork last time out and cannot be discounted dropping back, with race fitness on his side. The selection however was impressive in winning both races last term and, with her trainer in good form now, may well be able to make a winning return ahead of what could be an exciting season for leading owners Qatar Racing. Lost In Silence is potentially next best ahead of Allography.
