Well beaten in a bumper at Musselburgh and it was much the same when tried on the Flat at Hamilton last month. Hood applied today but a huge amount of improvement is also required.

By the mighty Pivotal out of a Galileo mare, he ticks the boxes in terms of breeding but has only posted moderate form in two starts to date. May have more to offer but hard to get too enthusiastic about what he has achieved so far.

Friendless in the betting on debut and was soon living up to expectations when he faded to be a little worse than mid-division. Much more required here and hard to forward as one to watch unless the market suggests he is capable of contributing to the travel cost from his trainer' s base in Scotland.

Never really travelled with any fluency on debut at Kempton and faded to finish tenth of the twelve runners. Yard respected but this fellow has too much to prove to merit any sort of recommendation at present.

His second to a potentially useful sort at Ripon was a much improved effort in its own right and sets the standard to aim for here. And assuming the step up to 1m4f doesn't inconvenience him, the Tim Easterby-trained gelding has a live chance of getting off the mark.

Nicely-bred type that has been found a weak race in which to make his debut. His breeding suggests that he is much more than just a travel companion for Key Bid, who runs in division one of this race. The market will be informative.

Finished third over C&D last weekend, an effort which may be boosted in the previous race. One to bear in mind for a place at least now that he is gaining in experience.

Cost €90,000 and has plenty of useful performers in his bloodlines. Won't need to be anything special to make an immediate impact. Market confidence could be persuasive.

Forecasts

Ottonian (2/1), Kilowatt (2/1), Belgravian (11/4), Sunrize (9/1), Inspector (12/1), Notnow Seamus (12/1), Relevant (20/1), Hugoigo (40/1), Sindarin (100/1)

Verdict

As with Division One of this race, it's not difficult to whittle it down to just a handful of contenders. KILOWATT sets the standard in terms of form in the book and, with the presence of well-bred newcomers Ottonian and Relevant helping to deflect attention, he may be allowed to start at a reasonable price. Ottonian is bred to hold his own at this sort of trip and just edges the verdict at the best alternative. Sunrize may the best option for punters looking for one capable of casing an upset.
