Trainers juveniles have been in imperious form, and this colt got off to the perfect start at Newbury last month when running on well late to defeat Headway by a neck (5F). Up in trip, which should suit and switched to Tapeta under a penalty, but sets the benchmark.

€17,000 first foal by Rock of Gibraltar out of Qenaa. Clearly will be suited by trips of 7F and 1m on pedigree, and stable often do well at this track.
First foal out of the stables useful mare Cheers For Thea (and by Monsieur Bond). One to keep an eye on as he gains more racecourse experience but this looks a tough starting point.
Yard often does well with their juveniles, and have been known to ready useful Ascot bound youngsters at this track previously (on turf). First foal by Helmet out of Windlass, and very much one to note in the market.

$25,000 yearling who is a fifth foal by The Factor out of Matroshka. Half-brother to three winners (over various trips).

€42,000 yearling, and probably the stables second string on jockey bookings (yard also saddle Indomeneo). Second foal out of Miss Dutee, and a half-brother to 6F and 7F winner False ID.

Slowly away and a never dangerous fifth of seven to Excellently Poised at Musselburgh over the Easter period on debut. Rare juvenile runner for a trainer who has a Tapeta gallop (same surface as this track) at his Borders base.

25,000 gns foal, but that increased to £62,000 as a yearling. Seventh living foal by Piccolo out of Cherrycombe Row and plenty of AW experience in his pedigree. Likely tuned up to run a big race on debut for a trainer that has enjoyed an excellent start to the season with his juveniles.
From a yard that saddled Cheeseandpickle to score here on debut last month and represents powerful owners. £41,000 yearling who is a third foal by Lethal Force out of Madam Valentine. Half-brother to the talented Pipers Note, so of definite interest on debut.

£85,000 yearling and a half-brother to six previous winners including Kurand and Star Fire. Dam Bunditten was a 5F juvenile AW winner, and by Choisir all the signs on paper point to a big run on debut.

Finished eighth on both starts so far over 5F at Beverley and this would appear a stiffer test. Half-brother to the John Quinn trained The Nazca Lines, and probably more one for nurseries later this term.

Trainer had plenty entered for this race, but relies upon this £42,000 yearling by Iffraaj out of the Listed placed AW winner Mosqueras Romance. One of a number of horses to be considered to fill the placings tonight.

120,000 gns yearling out of Society Rock by La Chicana who carries the Al Shaqab Racing silks on debut. Half-brother to winners Desert Encounter and Fast Enough, and is well bred to make an impression.

Verdict

A maximum field, and a race which promises to be hugely informative for the future, and it would be no surprise to see a few of these horses Royal Ascot bound next month. Previous winner GOLD TOWN sets the benchmark, and is difficult to oppose with the Appleby trained juveniles in imperious form. He would appear certain to be suited by this stiffer test of stamina, but does face a number of rather interesting looking rivals. These horses include the likes of Far Dawn, Indomeneo, Move it Move it, Rajasinghe, Rufus King and Shaheen.
