Impressive winner of a maiden in first time cheekpieces over 1m2f in November. Cheekpieces return here having been left off for handicap debut at Newmarket last month when a well beaten sixth and an interesting runner here.

Justified odds-on favouritism by ½L when winning over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle in March. Had previously finished runner-up to Atkinson Grimshaw at Wolverhampton in February and makes his handicap debut here.

Forecasts

Wasatch Range (5/2), Whip Nae Nae (13/2), Manchego (13/2), Azam (7/1), Splash Around (15/2), Mount Moriah (8/1), Atkinson Grimshaw (8/1), Mullarkey (12/1), Outcrop (14/1), Above Normal (20/1), Koeman (20/1), Blushing Red (25/1)

Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute's yard are in fine form at present and his SPLASH AROUND can make a winning handicap debut in this contest. The selection is well drawn in stall six and ran well to finish third over 1m2f at Leicester last time out. Wasatch Range was successful in a maiden event last time out and has done enough to suggest he too can play a hand in the finish while Above Normal, who drops in trip here and wears cheekpieces for the first time can claim third here ahead of Manchego who was successful at Wolverhampton last month.
