Has recorded both of her career successes at this track in the early months of 2017. Off the mark in a 2m1f handicap hurdle in January (form respectable in the grade), and she also scored on her fencing debut here last month. A decisive 10L winner of an admittedly weak race, she's tough to knock despite an 8lb rise.

Badly out of sorts since leaving Mick Channon, and weakened after racing prominently to finish last of five to Virnon over 2m1f at Market Rasen last month. Falling sharply in the weights, and hopefully for connections, stronger for a couple of quick runs off a four month break. Tongue tie applied.

Not able to take advantage of a falling mark lately, and not fluent in rear and always struggling when well behind Miss Conway at Hexham last month. Dropped a further 3lb but his stable have saddled a few winners over the past week, so a better showing is possible for this four time course winner.

Beaten over 13L when third to Aly's Rock over C&D last month on what was his first start over fences. However, difficult to imagine this 21 race maiden improving enough to reverse those placings, and even if doing so, it's not guaranteed to be enough in a competitive handicap for the grade.

Built upon some promise on her penultimate start at Southwell when taking a 2m Hexham Handicap Chase by 3½L from Pekanheim (run well since) last month. Goes well at that Northumberland venue (less so here), but respected despite an 8lb rise.

Best suited by this track, with his two career chasing successes coming over C&D on soft ground. Likes to race prominently and has probably had excuses the past twice (track and inexperienced rider). Competitive from this mark and suited if the ground eases further, but overall others are probably stronger.

Six of his eight career jumps victories have come at this track, and he was driven out to take a 2m5f handicap hurdle for the second year in succession at the previous Sedgefield fixture. Not beaten too far in this race in 2016 by Gin Cobbler, he always needs to be respected here, but has work to do with Miss Conway based upon their clash at Hexham in April.

Rules maiden who is a free running type, and has been pulled up on each of his last two starts. Feasibly might have needed the latter of those starts after a break, but needs to return to his fairly consistent placed form from last summer to enter calculations for the minor honours.

22 race maiden and returns to the track for the first time since September 2016. Not shown enough since switched to handicaps over fences to be considered despite the stable striking with a few winners lately at Hexham.

Forecasts

Sendiym (11/4), Miss Conway (7/2), Muwalla (4/1), Alys Rock (9/2), Bourbon Prince (8/1), Roxyfet (9/1), Needless Shouting (12/1), Duhallowcountry (14/1), Stormbay Bomber (14/1), Reverse The Charge (18/1), Hope For Glory (25/1)

Verdict

The last chance to race at Sedgefield until August, so a number of course specialists are in attendance for a competitive looking handicap for the grade. MUWALLA loves it here and he returned from a break when 'mugging' subsequent winner Vodka Wells after the last fence recently, and on that form alone is the horse to beat on anything quicker than Good to Soft ground. Miss Conway holds a couple of these runners on her Hexham winning form (franked by Pekanheim) and she's respected despite seemingly being more suited to Hexham than Sedgefield previously. Of the others, Sendiym, Alys Rock and Duhallowcountry should run their races.
  1. Muwalla
  2. Miss Conway
  3. Alys Rock
