Maiden after nine outings including in handicap company the last three. Beaten 7L into seventh of 14 over 7f at Limerick (good-to-firm) on his latest outing 12 days ago but not written off just yet.

Ran a promising race on debut for this yard over a mile on soft ground at Gowran Park recently, finishing just over 2L fourth of 14. Every chance of building on that if taking to the Polytrack first time.

Has been busy already this year, often struggling, though best run (of six) came over this C&D in March when beaten just over 3L. Races from a 4lb lower mark now and could have a say if putting pieces together.

Unplaced in three maidens here last year over 7f, she tried her hand in handicap company three weeks ago over the mile and was beaten 6L. Drops just 1lb for this, needs to step up on previous efforts.

Some moderate promise shown in four maidens at this track earlier in the year, goes handicapping for the first time here sporting cheekpieces and cannot be entirely ruled out of it.

2yo form was nothing to write home about and efforts in pair of handicaps over this sort of trip on turf at Cork and Gowran Park since coming back in leave plenty to be desired. Drops 2lb for this, hard to fancy.

Possibly best to forgive recent effort over 7f on turf at Limerick as that was first experience on the surface, has gone well in maidens around this venue and with 1lb back and hood on again, could get competitive in this.

Best efforts to date have come over shorter trips, remains unplaced in 11 starts and was below best at Gowran Park over this trip on turf late last month. Cheekpieces go on now, has plenty to prove.

Struggled in maidens last year over sprinting trips, didn't run badly on handicap debut at Cork six days ago over 6f. Tackles the mile now for the first time and also facing this surface for the first time, could be an interesting contender.

Filly has found it tough in three maidens over sprint trips, latest coming here in December over 5f when beaten almost 10L. Tackles this sort of trip for the first time on return to action in handicap debut. Market may guide expectations.

Turned in latest modest effort over 6f at Cork six days ago, yet to hit the frame in five outings and will need to hope this longer trip brings about significant improvement if hoping to do so now.

Like many in the field, hasn't been able to muster much of a challenge over shorter trips and now taking on the mile for the first time. Well beaten in handicap bow at Cork recently over 6f, gets 2lb for that effort.

Is rated 3lb lower than when beaten 3L into third over C&D in a handicap in March. The 6f at Cork last week was potentially too sharp and could shape much better now.

Was beaten 15L in a C&D maiden in November when last spotted, following pattern of earlier maiden runs. Returns to action for handicap debut with a bit of improvement to find.

Forecasts

Shawami (2/1), Richard Strauss (7/2), Wild Shot (6/1), Less Of That (8/1), Pronounced (12/1), Annie Apple (12/1), Invincible Queen (14/1), All About Grace (16/1), I Am Titanium (16/1), Border Prince (20/1), Main Pulse (20/1), All The Mollies (33/1), Woodcarver (33/1), Little Kodi (40/1)

Verdict

Shawami made a good start for this yard at Gowran Park recently and can go well again here if taking to the AW surface, with the trainer continuing to be in super form. Wild Shot ran well enough over C&D in March off a 4lb higher mark to be of interest now but similar sentiments apply to ANNIE APPLE, who was just ahead of him that day (Main Pulse also behind the pair). The selection is now 3lb lower in the ratings and will appreciate this step up in trip having tackled 6f at Cork a week ago, a run that should leave her spot on for this. Also stepping up in distance on just a second handicap start, Invincible Queen is one to keep an eye on.
  1. Annie Apple
  2. Shawami
  3. Wild Shot
