Three-times C&D winner who ran above expectations when a 50-1 third of six in a Conditions event at this track last month. Has climbed the handicap, but is in a good place at present and seems sure to run his race.
Second and down the field in two 7f races at Newcastle since being gelded, he drops to 6f for the first time. He has won when forcing the pace and that might well be the tactic over his shorter trip.
Two wins as a juvenile, but is yet to win for his current trainer. Is slipping down the weights, however, and was an encouraging third at Newcastle last time, so has to be considered.
Has been a little below his best on in his last two starts, but has claims on his C&D second to El Viento in December. He is 4lb lower here and jockey booking suggests he is fancied to go well.
Had no chance when last of 13 in a Listed race at Bath last time, but before that she had dead heated with Atalante and finished second to Fujin over C&D. She is on 7lb better terms with the latter for a 2L beating and has obvious claims on that form.
Has been in tremendous form on the AW at Southwell, winning three of his last four starts, but has gone up 15lb for those wins. On a steep upward curve, but the weight rise and first attempt at a new surface prompt caution.
Does most of his racing at Newcastle these days, but went to Wolverhampton for his last start and justified favouritism off a 3lb lower mark. Has not sparkled on previous visits to this track and others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Dark Side Dream (11/4), Fujin (9/2), Mutamid (9/2), Treaty Of Rome (5/1), Parkour (7/1), Plucky Dip (8/1), Fredricka (10/1)
A tight handicap which may see Mutamid go out in front in a bid to make his stamina tell. However, he might be vulnerable to spedier types, in particular top weight Fujin, a real C&D specialist, and FREDRICKA. The latter has a clear chance at the weights and may represent some value.
